Thoughts remain thoughts till you turn them into intentions. Then They start to change, to happen, maybe not exactly in the manner it was meant to be, but differently. Well written piece and yes ony change is constant,God's will is also there.many things have to be taken into account. Good essay. gooloom

In the nineteenth century, upon marriage, the property of the woman becomes the property of the husband. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words.

Wonderful little piece, my friend. Good mechanics and tight flow, and I thought it was catchy. Don't get down on yourself. You are very talented.

I feel like the way you used the words and the way the sentences were put together made this writing almost perfect. It is one of the best works I have read on this site. Keep up the good work!

Well, Al, you should have given this one a sub-title: Life is a Crap Shoot! Get over it! No, seriously though - in this one I found your point of view interesting and I was visualizing the speaker as being someone from a very poor background, perhaps Third World, contemplating riches, or lack of same. What it takes to get them, and oh well ... all pre-ordained, forget it!

Now this one speaks to a particular person, which I found interesting and refreshing. It shows variety with what you're doing. I just wish I knew more about the relationship with her and the narrator. :)

I am a relatively intelligent person and I'm either offended at your pretense or your meaning is so over my head that I might as well start first grade again. I see this piece has been recognized and highly praised. I would like to see more direction and cohesion. This is almost like a ramble with nothing to ramble about. Sorry

Not a particularly fresh thought, but I do appreciate that you included a concrete example--the expectations of a happy life. Why not continue this line of reasoning to include the question--is it better to dream of the best or of the worst.

You are thinking that you will marry that very fair village girl; her family, your family, the villagers and others will support you happily and you will get the pawn of cash, gold jewellery, motor bike, a fertiliser shop on your wedding day, you will settle at in-laws' and your parent-in-law will gift their movable and immovable property to their only daughter who will transfer the same property in your favour and you'll be a billionaire....

How did youknow I was thinking that? And what is a fertiliser shop? Do you have a spill check? Just wondering.

I had to read this a few times to get any sense out of it at all. I found it very confusing. I didn't appreciate your use of punctuation either.

That being said, don't give up. I believe you've got a lot to share. You just need to find a clearer way to express your thoughts.
