Life has a way of teaching us how to live righteously.
It will give us a chance to do the right things for those around us.
When we falter and fall, we will go to God for help only to realize we did not followed His word and failed badly this time around.
The power of prayers can restored our souls to make them shine and renew. We have to help ourselves and only then, God can help us.
Excellent write and well penned.
Cheerio, hugs, Ritchie.

Hi Carolyn,
Without humility we can not go far in life. We must believe in the greatness of others and let go of our ego - it's the only way forward for any part of life to have meaning.
Hugs, Ritchie. :))

Carolyn,
I was a little lost reading through this, but that is on me, not st all on your writing. My understanding of this - that we all have to jobless ourselves in front of God for all the sin we committed and wait for our forgiveness.
Close?

Good morning John, Poetry is kind of, reader interpretive as well as writer intent. From this end, the whole gist of God's love for us and His forgiveness, compassion, mercy, love, would seem to be, attitude and a willing obedience, He takes care of the rest. Thank God for grace, I will need a lot of it. Have a wonderful day, my buddy. Carolyn

crap, that word was supposed to be humble not jobless (darn auto spell).

Ah ! - Brilliant as ever, dear Carolyn. You, as I have always stated , do indubitably possess that 'sublime' sensibility, that makes a genuine poet stand out - something highly intrinsic, & appealing to the ear. And believe me, when I say, your work today reminds me so much of Emily Bronte ( surely, you must've heard of her ), the only poetess in the religious genre, who had an innate quality for the choicest use of articulate diction, creating thereby, a haunting melody out of words ....
The refined mastery of language which you so brilliantly employ in this tender piece , tends to flow evenly in a perfect sequence of rhythmic beauty, lending to the work an enchanting pictorial effect....such as what one finds in such poetic Giants as Swinburne or Cecil Frances Alexander, the latter in particular, whose works emphasised an almost similar spiritualistic fervor akin to yours....though the implication thereof was much different.
Seldom have I seen an introspective work so well-executed, and perfectly clear, in its poetic expression and meaning, all at the same time....
Fraught in sublime touches of what I call "Devout Romanticism ", there persists in your wonderful work such elaborately sparkling poetic expressions as:
" contrite heart approach thy throne
peace and faith love unbound ..."
or,
" righteousness is much desired
self-righteousness much more condemned .... " - which by the sheer dint of their philosophical depth and artistic originality, lend to your work a remarkable blend of profoundness and intellectuality. Scarcely have I words enough to commend you .....
Characterized vividly by an idealistic undertone, the lyrical ease of expression, tends to ring out in vivid clarity - an attribute which in itself seems challenging enough for any writer of poetry to achieve .... ( the more reason have I hence, to adore you ! ) ....
Your work therefore, possesses a stunning power to appeal directly to the heart, & tends to remain permanently entrenched therein.
I don't care how it does there in the contest, or whether they will ever end up in fathoming your real worth at all.
But for me at least, you are priceless. And I am proud to have you as my friend & Exemplar ....

Wow, my head is going to be so big, I won't fit through our door! You astound me with your kind words and comparisons to writers of the past, whom I hold as literary giants in my heart. Emily Bronte is one of my role models. What a lady to emulate, if only in a small way. Thanks you so much. You are so right about the contest. I enter them when it fits the 'inspired thought' of my day. It would be nice to win, but if not, that's always ok too. As long as 'you' think I am doing well then I am happy. :-) Have a wonderful day and I appreciate you, say hi to your sweet Mother. Carolyn

Will do, Carolyn .... :)
And behold ! - Here's something for your most recent, & outstanding feat :-
Impeccably fared , my friend ! You shall ever reign supreme in our hearts as being the greatest ....
:)
-
I love it ! I have almost 'worn it out' returning to it time and again. I think I shall have to make some strawberry jam in its honor. :-) Carolyn
-
Ah ! - What a Delicious prospect ! - LOL.
And besides, its your granddaughter's birthday after all ! - So, you've every reason to make it ....
;)

The picture doesn't do well for this inspirational poem. And feeling inspired is only half of it. The words seemed to bounce off the page and into my mind. The 2 lines that I read that I really liked and that inspire me very much are;
"righteousness is much desired, self-righteousness much more condemned" speaks of self truths one is wanted in the other one is cast away. Thank you for sharing such an inspiring piece. You have a good one and God bless.
