Sorry it took me so long to get to your unfinished story. I've been out of town. Very good story. It's held my interest, not an easy feat. Your style is clever and clean. I like that. One note, in the very beginning, your protagonist magically knows the person waiting to see her is male.

Hi, Thanks so much. So glad three winners emerged. That truly is a successful contest, in my opinion. I enjoyed both my contest sharing stories, too, and that made it even more gratifying.
I was cut off from the internet during the voting, or I would have voted and you would have taken the entire pot. lol (Sorry for you, but glad for barleygirl and me).
Oh, and thanks again for the heads up on that blunder, and for all of your praise. It's much appreciated.

I realize now, I was thinking the last part would be added, & I wanted to read it before I reviewed it. But forget that now. I just want to tell you this is a very compelling story with realistic dialogue that is also startling & fresh. I feel even more honored to have tied with you, becuz your story is so much more complicated than mine, many layers to contemplate. Well, no use comparing. I just feel great, all around, our our co-win. Your story takes several unexpected turns that really put it way above & in a different league from most stories in this genre. There's affection beside terror between these 2 & it's done beautifully. Great work!

No, I've been off the internet for several days, but had I been connected I would have voted for Zeezeewriter's Mindflayer story. lol So, I guess we lucked out, eh... Not that we didn't deserve it.
I thoroughly enjoyed your entry, and I'm so glad you won. Congrats. The last part of my unfinished tale shall be completed soon, if you're interested. I'll post it within a couple of days.

This was truly a fast paced read. It was very original and gripping, and had me wanting to find out how it ends.
However, the fact that you haven't posted part 3 might have killed (pardon the pun) your chances of winning the contest-though I hope I am wrong. Please do post part 3..waiting to read how it ends

This is an excellent response to the prompt. It is creative and shows great imagination. I love the way it ended. I liked the idea that they were both setting the other up and they both knew it and understood the possible consequences. I love it.

So glad you liked it, Judy. I started out with a good idea, then made these two characters and became just as interested in their story as if it had been written by someone else.
I'm truly not sure where it's going, but I think I've got a great start here. Now to write parts two and three... The Honeymoon, and The Funeral. lol

It will be in there once I add it.... err, and it might not get written until late tonight or tomorrow morning. I've got a dinner date... no murderers invited, at least I hope not.
