This is such a lovely poem! It gives thanks and reverence to the Creator. I love your image choice, it is delightful, and reminds me of the Good Shepherd and we the sheep.
Lots of love here...
I see Your hand Oh Lord
in the glowing eyes of a child
And in the soft sweet hands of the aged
Their works are known
Nature and life rebirth
Family and friends

A lovely faith poem that flows beautifully because of the repetition of that one line 'I see your Hand Oh Lord' throughout with a variation of that line in the last stanza. Well written and a well written poem on a faith theme. Regards Dorothy

Lovely and inspirational from beginning to end. I think everything flowed beautifully and held the reader captive in the spirit of your words. "Your hand is close enough
To clasp in mine" - I might of ended with 'to clasp my own', but it works regardless. Thank you for sharing this with me.

    I am glad you liked this one. I like the suggestion and had thought about it, but chose 'in mine' for the simple tone I used. Thank you so much for caring and sharing your thoughts. :-) Carolyn

Terrific choice of artwork to accompany your write, Carolyn. It is so peaceful and serene.

Though not a religous person, just spiritual, I do appreciate the sentiments expressed in your poem. You have created beautiful imagery for your reader. The repetition of "Your Hand Oh Lord" drives your message home to the reader that God is all encompassing.

A very nice free verse poem, Carolyn.

    What a wonderful review and rating. Is there a real difference in 'religious' and 'spiritual'? :-) One seems to begat the other. I thank you so much for commenting Connie, Have a great day. :-) Carolyn

    My experience has been, Carolyn, that 'religious' people like to pray together (church goers), whereas 'spiritual' people will just pray on their own in their own way.

    Wishing you a wonderful day too! :)

    Then I am happy to report that I am both. God speaks to us through His word and we speak to Him through prayer. Be it public, as in an assembly, or private and very personal prayer, in our own way, as you say, is the greatest blessing in the world. Love, Carolyn

Truthful appreciation expressed in poetic love....God hand is everywhere....even to non believers...how amazing HE is...that he still takes care of all of us...this was truly beautiful and uplifting to the spirit.

God is everywhere and always beside and close to our hearts. In the sunrise and sunset, to the beautiful children and elderly folks, we can see the marvel of life before us.
As nature and life rebirth, we saw a new dawning since the beginning of man - trying hard to be untied with God again one day.
In the meantime, His presence will guide us and make us whole. To believe that life has a meaning for all to treasure.
Excellent write and well expressed.
Cheerio, hugs, Ritchie.

Ah ! - Here I find you again, Carolyn - God knows alone, as to what has befallen my confounded sanity today, in being unable to get myself off this "Poetic Haven" for good ! ...

And ah, by Jove ! - What a metaphoric splendour have you this time improvised ! I observe, your literary style reflects today, very much that of Walt Whitman, indubitably the first pioneering champion of the free-versed poetic genre. I chanced to read his "An Acre Of Grass" once, ( a free-styled masterpiece ), & was absolutely perplexed by the sheer dint of ingenious versatility, wherewith he could wield & improvise to such an unforeseen spectrum, the aesthetic scope & dignity of the modern free-verse ...... and yet, for some 'incoherent critics' of present times, the modernist style seems rather 'obscure' or even ..... 'superfluous'....
DOWN WITH THEM ! - I say, your poem is just the perfect 'eye opener' for such headstrong individuals to finally realize the true beauty & scope of the modern 'Freeverse' .... You are simply extraordinary! - & I for one do safely presume, you fare an invariable "six" with this artful extravaganza. The contextual & thematic coherence thereof, combined with your spontaneous, free-styled poetic expressiveness, makes it in every way, a delightful read.

Starkly-elegant in its rhythmic appeal ( an epithet I seldom ever ascribe to any of my reviews ) , the choicest use of refined, metaphoric imagery imparts the poem a "mellow" smack of splendour & dignity. For the mere employment of four uniform stanzas, ( & characterized, above all, by four rhythmic pauses of poetic " Caesura " ), you manage to impress upon the reader's mind a sense of demure appraisal - & herein lies, I suppose, the true greatness of your heartfelt work, which wins me over a thousandfold ! .... wonderful in every way .....

Hence, Madam, let His eternal hands of Benediction, abide you till the very end of time ..... this is all I'd fervently beseech & pray for, 'ere' I end. Stay as smiling & heartily jovial, as ever.
:)

P.S. - And, Ah ! - Carolyn, this is just to ensure - did you get my reply to your message, which I was forced to impart in your " replies to reviews " box, instead of the main P.M. section, for obvious reasons .... Do read your replies & there you'll find my worthy answer to your unforeseen benevolence ....

By the way, I'm upgrading very soon .... you better stay on-guard, Lady !! LOL ....

    Thank you for the delightful review! Have a wonderful day. You make me smile, and I am happy you enjoyed this one. Walt Whitman, Hmmmmmmmmm. :-) Carolyn

    Hmmm, Whitman it was, indeed !! -

    And Here goes today, Carolyn, to you, from me :

    Ravings Of An Already "Insane" Reviewer : ( Rhyming Quatrains ...) :-

    A weary reviewer exclaimed once, dismay'd -
    If ever be on FS there a 'dame',
    With whom good pace one can hardly keep ;
    Then know for sure, C. Stephens is her name !

    Oh ! none save God knows how she writes so well,
    With one poem at least on her list each day ;
    Laughing ; joking ; wooing - all with grace -
    Standing firm for friends, come what there may ....

    Saintly-kind ; yet childish deep inside ,
    One whose likes, you'll hardly ever see ;
    Barely need I say more words than these :-
    " But for her I'll never herein be ! " ....

    Hmmmm, how about that, Carolyn ?? !! ;)

    Outstanding! What a tribute, Thank you for the rhyming quatrains which show me it is time for you to POST. And by the way, it is a bit spooky how you really are 'getting' to know me. :-) Carolyn
