You have written an informative piece on an old performer that I hadn't heard had left us. Sad to see all of these musicians from my past, as they are leaving this world, some having left much too soon. I can see that you liked and admired this man, and your writing was a good tribute to him. Nicely done and thanks for the read.

When I read about Ray's death yesterday, the first thing I thought of was you, Mike, and your admiration of him. Your tribute is wonderful and I love the image of him as a ghost of rock and roll. Great poem.
Smiles,
Indy : )

Yea, it is one death that hurts when I think about it, as I was holding out hope of meeting him, and put a suggestion they bring Ray and the new version of the Doors as well Darryl Read to Baltimore. I know that Ray will never be a musician who truly dies, and appreciated Darryl giving me a seal of approval as I wanted to honor him to as he wrote the song, "Those Old Ghosts of Rock and Roll." He worked quite a bit with Ray.

Thank you for this wonderful review and the compliments. Mike

You indeed did a wonderful poem, really well written and easy to follow and understand. What a great tribute!
the artwork enhances the words in your poem and it has a good rhythm. You convey your message really and your emotions are effectively noted.

This is a great tribute in honor of Ray Manzarek. I don't think I know him but from your writing he has to be a very inspirational guy

Hi Mike,

You have penned a fine tribute about Manzarek and what you did to post his picture is superb. Your rhyming pattern is musical, the flow is smooth, good alliteration in father/figure, many/minds, descriptive word selection and the theme is excellent. Well done, chey

Yes um ... I'll try. I went on my first paranormal investigation and it was a trip. There's a lot of work with the photography and by did they get a photo or me. I was in what is reffered to as, "The Secret Room," out in the middle of nowhere. It looks like a small powder magazine, but we believe it is a smoke house, that is also a root cellar to preserve the cured meats. I am sitting on the narrow steps, and didn't realize the satanic symbol painted on the wall beside me. There is appearantly a mist we didn't see and it looks like a woman. Got touched on a bridge where a woman was choked and thrown over, thought it was my drover first, but then it felt like an animal on my leg and a bit electric. I did a little dance! Just them another woman said she felt energy and the meter went off. Then we heard two or three singing, and I turned to ask the woman what they were singing. Six people had amazed looks on their faces and we all said, "Do you hear that?"

I have a great collection of various ethnic music all over the world and couldn't place it. Since the Merryman's were Scots, I you tube investigated on a hunch, and I found something that sounds eriely similar, it is called Gaelic sound singing and based on singing psalms.

Now I have the Jewish Museum poem and info sheet to finish, reviewing as I blew my FS wad on posting this poem, about 50 images from the investigation to process with photoshop and post, as well about 100 from the Walter's Art Gallery. Not to mention cutting the grass and all the chores I put off since I found poetry. LOL

LOL! What brings the people running to me is the scream on when the musics over, but I work in a print shop. I thank you for the review. Mike

I do a great rendition of " the cars hiss by my window" and " the end" - at least that's what the shower tells me.

I love that song too! I knew of Ray before the Doors, as I took his album, "The Whole Thing Started With Rock and Roll and Now It's Out of Control," out of the library so much, they stamped withdrawn on it and gave it to me. I got the Best of The Doors, but it it was all the hits, I wasn't impressed with the group. It was only when I started purchasing all of their albums, as I was studying them for my own poetry, the total genius came out. I recently picked up Ray's Cd, " The Doors - Myth And Reality, The Spoken Word History of the Doors." God are those stories a blast and honest too.

While I believe Ray Manzarek will never rest,
at peace is his beloved soul.
Who will continue to reappear as a delightful
ghost of Rock and Roll.

A wonderful tribute to Ray Mike. I'm sure he sees it from above and is saying how great it is. He was a great musician for sure. Wonderful.

I put that in there for a mutual friend Darryl Read, who wrote the song The Ghosts of Rock and Roll. He has his own spooky story as the studio clocks stopped during the recording. I thank you very much for the compliments and this review. Mike

A person has well been remembered of his contribution of thoughts to the world and poet thinks him to get an immortal place on the planetary earth, emotionally expressed, legendary exaltation, I liked. 9/215

Mike, this is a terrific poem and tribute to a great musician.
You must have been a great fan of his to write so poetically of his accomplishments and his leaving a huge hole in the world of rock and roll. Very well transpired.
Best wishes, Joan

I actually knew of Ray Manzarek long before the doors. He prodused a solo album titled The Whole Thing Started With Rock and Roll and Now It's Out of Control. I took it out from the library so much, the stamped withdrawn on it and gave it to me.

I thank you for the compliments and this review. Mike
