I like your tribute to Ray Manzarek, the keyboardist with the Doors that past away this week. Hopefully, he has found Jim Morrison somewhere and they are able to play in a new band together.

Cheers,
Dw

Very well written tribute to the late Ray Manzarek. Music never does die and so his creations will live on. And while he may be at peace, a rocker never rests. Thanks for sharing.

That is true, and last Sunday evening I was on my first paranormal investigation; pretty much enjoying the hike and figuring just along for the ride. There was a bridge we crossed that held murderous tragedy and while they were trying for a sign, felt my calf caressed. Something easily dismissed as I was wearing my drover, then I had a sensation it was an animal and had a sensation of electricity. That made me dance!

Then another woman reported an electric feeling and the EMF meter went off. We were discussion this when I heard two women singing a melody. As much of an ethnic collection as I have from all over the world, I couldn't place it and turned to the women to ask what song it was. They were singing and the look on everyone's face was what we asked at the same time, "Do you hear that?" We all pointed in the same direction too.

I got home and followed up on a hunch, as the original property owner was Scottish. It took about an hour in a half on you tube as we had to get past Celtic and into the more Germanic Gaelic and I found a similar example under Gaelic Sound Singing, which is how they sing their Psalms. What I found interesting is what I felt we heard was the responses to the Cantor. It had me flipped out, until one of the women posted a picture of me in the Secret Room, a powder magazine like structure in the ground we believe was actually a smoke house and cooling cellar for cured meats. I am sitting on the steps in the center, appearing more like a Myth Buster then a Ghost Hunter, but to the viewers left is a Satanic symbol that somehow escaped my attention and to the right another investigator standing, but before him a figure of a woman. The photographer was in the corner to my right, and you could argue a flash was fired crossways at the same time. But the glare should have been even, and you could bring up the possibility of a film on the lens filter ... But you can not mistake the proper proportions of a petite, yet hardy woman in a Victorian dress. They call her Jen.

Doors music is a lot like that. Somehow, the music and the spirit behind it will always find its way into the future.

I love this review and thank you for it and the compliments. No thank you for reading and commenting! Mike

Well-written tribute poem to the great keyboardist of the legendary Doors! I'm sure he and Jim and the others in Rock & Roll heaven are roacking the house. Maybe that's what's up with all of these thunderstorms!

LOL! I thank you for this review and the compliments. While Jim had is trepidations about his life, I like the spirit and curiousity he seemed to present. Ray was stoic about it all. Mike

Well written tribute, Mike. I never got into that brand of music. Guess I was busy with children or life or who knows what. Thank you for a great introduction. By the way, I've never asked about the K2 of your screen name. Is it in reference to the mountain peak in Pakistan?

Yes, In a sense, K2 means the mountain as many expeditions failed; and they made a movie about the one's who suceeded and though one said he would leave the other dying, he rallied and the movie's theme was about true friendship. I think of it as FanStory in for short.

I thank you for the compliments and in reviewing this. Mike

Heartfelt piece of prose on display. Well written and transcribed. The tone is one of a eulogy which is fitting given the message. Well done

Before reading your poem I didn't know who he was but
that doesn't matter because the love and admiration you
obviously had for this talented man shines through each line,
and it was a pleasure to read.

Glad to help out. Many people know and like the Doors and don't know the band members outside of Jim Morrison. To me, Ray was just as important and talented as Jim. I thank you for the compliments and this review, Mike.
