I certainly enjoyed these uplifting words of advice, it is a reminder that most times after a storm, comes a Rainbow..indeed It has been my choice to be grateful for my Blessing, as it could always be worse..I like the form of this poem, it certainly allows the reader to be drawn in until the last word.. thank for sharing your well written free verse poem with us, it was my pleasure!
Warmly,
Victoria

This is scene is beautiful. I think that you opted for the right decision with retiring. You writing shows all the joys and pleasures that you are constantly receiving through retirement. Sara :)

Hi Tom.
I ran out of six stars. Really loved this one. The format of the poem itself is like a candle on a candlestick. I really haven't seen much of this kind or shape of poetry. So true, at the end of the day, we should feel more blessed.
Goodnight

"Light a candle"
"Let it glow"--the simple pleasure of a candle flame burns bright with peace, and promise as it represents new hopes for tomorrow's glory.

The plant was going to shut down and you chose for early retirement. Maybe that was the best option. I really liked these thoughts you put down. Gives you a very nice memory. Nice photo where you camped.

This is excellent free verse. It has excellent rhythm but no rhyme at the end of lines. It has an unconventional structure.
It sets a mood of reflection the days deeds and offers advice to have a good day on the morrow. I enjoyed this work.

Really like your free verse, the layout of the lines, the flow and such a beautiful picture and such telling author notes. Sometimes when it looks darkest, it is actually a pivot to light. Love " feel /how/ all/ your/ senses/ are at play" as they clearly are in this poem. It feels free.

Thank you Ravenblack. I considered not centering it, as yours often are left justified, but decided on centering. The single word lines are more powerful when left justified, but the overall composition looked better centered.

A beautiful reminder of being happy about what is good and not the bad.
Well done as always and your sunset picture is beautiful. I'm sure on that day you had many questions about what your life would be like in retirement, forced or by choice.
Change is always difficult. I love retirement. I stay in bed late and drink tea and write if I feel like it. Hugs and smiles for a beautiful verse. Robin :)
