I agree with you, I am not an American, I am English, so we don't have the same gun laws as you do. Even our police are not allowed guns, only special forces, not many of them. I would have thought after all the recent deaths caused by shootings in America the law would be changed. A very good poem, Treischel. xsx Sandra

your gentle rant on the abilities of our legislatures to work together for
the people. I too am Republican so I see your point. I'm all for limited terms and not career politicians.

BRAVO! During my conversations with a co-worker, I too lament the broken nature of national politics. This was so beautifully done and straightforward. I hope at some point, both sides of the aisle will find a way to really pursue the business of America. I started reading a lot about the political process starting about 1968 and I truly have become more and more dismayed. I was a delegate to a state political convention, but these days I a not too sure I would even fit in there. But as I near retirement, I do think of participating in some capacity in the local political process.
Thank for sharing your observation.

Sometimes, the voice of poets will touch a nation. I hope yours does. Horror and atrocity seems to have no impact. I too was so disappointed that the lawmakers are more concerned with opposing everything that the current democratically elected government tries to do than they are with doing what is right.
