For me, this poem is so great since it speaks to religious folk and atheists as well. I saw that because, as I was reading, I removed the "God" part of the poem and felt that it didn't lose any perspective. The writing trio(images, flow and rhymes) was respected here

I like your attitude mate. My motto is live and let live and do unto others. I'm NOT religious but so far its working for me. I LOVED your poem clever girl.
Gosh whoever this is to they are getting a hammering. Oh well, you know those righteous types of writers...they need sorting now and again.
Imagine if the atheists and agnostics and all the other inbetweeners got on their band boxes daily here about what they DON'T believe. It just wouldn't be acceptable. We'd be vilified, not to mention crucified and told to go to hell in a hand basket.
Good for you I say...I don't mind religion as long as I can take it like medicine...in small doses and I get to decide when! You articulated yourself well without telling off the reader, well at least the ones it doesn't apply to...haha. Not easy to do in a rant...
Cheers P

Thank you so much P. Indeed if everyone followed the 'do unto others...' attitude we would have a more harmonious site. It often appears to be one rule for one... on here. Thanks for your stunning review and rating, Jaq xxx

Indeed do as I say and not as I do...I think it is...teehee

Comment from Roxanna Andrews
Sadly standing for something often comes across as judgment. But is not this poem also a judgment. Things have changed greatly in the world, some are struggling, things aren't always said in love as they should be, or so we may think. But maybe it is real love that motivate the poems written on these things. The bible has clear guidelines they don't change no matter what society may do. If you truly believe in something, with all your heart, don't you stand by it? What is the point of believing in anything if you waver, or change your mind all the time? Should those who believe one way be judged as wrong or unfit for society? Anyway this is very well written great rhyme. And sorry I really didn't mean to preach. Rox

You're not preaching Roxanna. Great to have your thoughts on it. I do believe in live and let live. I'm definitely not here to judge and will always stand for what I see as wrong. I know that doesn't automatically make me right but I had the right to reply and used it. Thanks for reviewing it's appreciated xx

Thank you for your generous reply. =} I'm glad I didn't come across as abrasive, or are U just being nice. =} Your poem was very well done and I do agree all things done in love, give us some time to figure out how we best do that. Thanks so much dear. Rox

The One who bore the crown of thorns told His followers to go into all the world and preach the Gospel. So who should we listen to? You or the Savior? True preaching points out sin so that people will seek and receive forgiveness in Christ. I'm sure you believe in forgiveness? So doesn't it stand to reason that there must be something wrong? Otherwise, there would be no need of this wonderful blessing.
Every true preacher of Christ understands that we/they are not perfect in themselves. We have been forgiven and are seeking to obey Christ's marching orders for us.
The One we are following was called crazy, possessed of demons, a law-breaker... and then He was put to death on a cross. Those who truly follow can expect the same treatment but we rejoice in His love and the fact that He rose from the dead. He loves you too, and this writer does not think himself better than you. I only ask you to consider these things.

I always consider a reasoned statement Deniz I will stand by my belief in freedom of choice. If we weren't to use free will why then were we given it? I am RC so do believe in God my problem isn't with HIM it's with people who think they speak for HIM. That wasn't you I meant there. Food for thought. We may have to agree to disagree here. :) Jaq x

Thank you,Jaq Cee. I'm willing to continue discussing this issue if you like but of course it's up to you. God bless, Dennis

YES, it's a truth in court business, one party is hurt the judge he or she is always incline to give a verdict shouting guilty or not guilty that's his or her last word.andone has to accept it.

excellent use of rhyming couplets
good alliteration in preach and prattle
I just love your closing stanza!!!
God save us all from the self righteous
I know what inspired your poem, I'm fairly certain - I've had a very frustrating conversation with the writer. Brooke

Thanks Brooke and yes, you are probably spot on. It is so wrong to lump people's life-choices in with child-molesters and the like. Thanks for your review. :) Jaq xx
