"There is another sky"
Governs both hemispheres
I wonder, perchance,
If we wish upon the same star?
This is a wonderful short piece. I like this, when i first read it, i pictured our sky and space itself as a sky, but i know you were referencing other planets in the universe sky.
great job
Regards
Tia

What a nice tribute to Ms. Dickenson! I often wonder about WHO is looking at the moon at the same time as me..and I often dream of those who have looked upon the moon and stars down through the ages too! I think your poem is perfect to speak aloud while looking at the glory of our heavens. Donkeyoatey

Thank you for a wonderful review, donkeyoatey. I love your artwork, as you know. :) It was the perfect illustration.

I think you have done Emily (my favorite as well) justice with your extended conversation. It is a universal sentiment to wonder about the world beyond where we are in our little corners, and you bring together not only distant locations, but distant ideas, perhaps as well, by choosing the naani format. Very nicely done, and great alliteration, as well-
wonder/we/wish...same star

Your poem of 25 syllables in 4 lines is in good naani form
You do a lovely job of incorporating Dickinson's line into your own poem
I like how you close with a question to engage the reader and to intensify the speaker's emotion, and I like the thought-provoking nature of the question
nice use of alliteration, too :-)

Excellent naani, Kim.
Very thought-provoking to 'wonder' as you say. It's sweet and strange to think maybe thousands, if not millions of us wish upon the same star at the same time, without realising we're sharing the same vision and feelings.
Best wishes, Ray

I thought that was a profound thought, Ray. :) Keep wishing and gazing at the stars. *hugs* Kim

Just my luck, Kim. I just looked up at the stars, and a pigeon with diahrea (?spell) flew overhead. Splat! Yuck. :-) xx

I think your poem will do Emily proud. It is well written. It is amazing how stars in the northern and southern hemispheres differ. There is some stars we see in the south that they will never see in the north and vice versa. What exquisite art work!

In answer to your question - I am sure we do! Although mine will not be the North Star and your's will not be the Crux - Southern Cross. :-) Maybe Orion??? An excellent poem which got me thinking. Well done!

Yes, Orion is a beautiful constellation. Our favored constellation here in Alaska is The Big Dipper, it is featured on the Alaska State Flag. Are you in Australia, Jacq? Methinks, from the reference to the Southern Cross. Thanks for the wonderful review.

You are welcome. Yep...I live in the land Downunder. :-)

Very clever art work and words.
I wonder if their is life on other planets.
I loved the creative words written here.
I wonder if all humans can hold someone to love
The love and peace will reign over us all.

Thank you for a lovely review, honeytree. I have a very good friend who I converse with online almost daily that lives in Australia, which of course, couldn't possibly be further away from me, here in Alaska. I thought it was a fun idea thinking about all of mankind living under the same stars as our planet shoots through the universe. I appreciate your kind comments and review.
