It is addiction down to the last cent. When the heart's contented and the pockets emptied of small change, it is time to hit home.
Losing at the casino is a common thing, yet we all go there - just to burn up the stress and forget where we are for once.
Within the casino walls, all is bare, and amid the dim lights, slot machine punters do dozed off as they gingerly press the repeat bet button.
On occasions when we win, we called ourselves blessed for not losing money today. Not losing means winning.
Like a town full of gamblers big and small, everyone had a dream - to strike the jackpot and make it bit. But only small people came out.
For those who strike the millions and never left the casino, they ended up losing their homes and their minds. Zombies walk the place - no sleep for more than 24 hours and still betting until the last dollar. Poignant.
I saw a neighbor of mine climb over the iron gates and inquired why. She said she just got back from the casino and did not want to wake her sleeping husband.
The ATM machines inside the casino and the foreign exchange are doing great business, the latest slot machines are great and so is everything great, LOl. Free flow of coffee, tea and water. This place never sleeps, even the machines until the money collection rounds at 3 am starts FOR THE SLOT MACHINES.
Hope this short piece compliments your story.
Good write on the emotions of the people well captured.

Thanks Ritchie. Yes, you have captured the essence orefectly. Maybe you should write you own Casino poem.

If i write that, and everyone go into the casino, it will be a disaster. I write it to be so exciting and heavenly, any reader woul;d have been convinced to go to the casino and play the casino War card game there.
For "Innocent Vices", I gave the casino a miss and even then, the reviews came back with a vice is a vice is a vice!

So make sure if you go
To have plenty of dough
You might have a ball
Or you might lose it all
Great poem rhyming for a Casino. Fun to read.

Yayy you did it.
Fabulous poem describing the many different walks of life strolling into a casino and chancing their luck.
Some win but most loose, you had a lucky day walking out with what you went in with Tom.
Perhaps you could also write a poem giving more specific details about fewer people, maybe your interpretation as to what types of lives they lead:)
I really enjoyed this. Your photograph curtained the casino perfectly.
One line "Down (to) road like a blazing el-nino
What is an e-lnino? A mexican bandit perhaps? LOL
(the) would read better perhaps?
Great to read, great to review
Kind regards Trimple x

Aloha Treischel,
I like the way you brought in all the characters at the casino. The emotions of winning and losing. Glad you broke even, that's the way to go. I'm a penny slot player, trouble is I play many lines. Very good write and entertaining and I didn't have to spend a dime.

You have deffinately hit the nail on the head with this one. I don't live near a casino, but have visited a few in the past and would say I saw this exact grouping. It is fun just to go and watch, as observing this group would be a treasure all its own. Thanks for posting this fun poem.
