Modestly told, simply hinted, orderly voiced, practically guided, symphonically pleaded, challengingly patronised, systematically exemplified, professionally worded English patriotism, founded English like, culturally motivated, I liked the point of view flash read.

This is a nice frivolous piece, but still with somewhat serious overtones. You probably could have gone on and on with this theme, but I think it's better that you kept it as short as you did. It is surprising how often one sees incidences of these misspellings as a reviewer on this site. The problem, obviously, is not confined to "English as a second language" folks.

Thank you Gerald. You are so right. I find the international flavor on this site to be a challenge too as dialects come into play. Does Aunt rhyme with "can't" or "flaunt"? Do the words "owl" and "spire" have one syllable or two?

I found this quite ammusing since here in America, through texting at unfathomable speed, many shortcuts are taken to say words understood only by those who type in text and as you've so kindly shown, simple terms. Thus though by, bye and buy does mean different things, a nation I love is being dumbed down as many care less about what's right as long as it sounds right it can't be wrong. Confusion is the order of kayos and kayos seems to be winning out here in America. Thus 2 and 2 equal 3 if one extra, is two many to share a half with. All makes sense to me, doesn't it you. Just trying to throw in some humor and liked your write. God bless and keep up the great writing.

Ha ha! I enjoyed your poem. A refreshing title you dealt with.I also dwell in similar thoughts time and again. The more you read the more confusion(sometimes), it brings.Well,Read Eats,Shoots and Leaves by Lynn Truss for punctuations and who could be better teacher than David Crystal for 'The fight for English' Word trippers are fun!

Thank you Bindu. Great suggestions. I'll look them up.

Searched for both, couldn't find either one.

To many of foreign decent this is not an easy task. For some have tried in the past and have been confused from the get go. We must stop and show them how and since you were born learning English from the start you are the best candidate to date to show them how.Get off your duff and stop pretending teach the how and you will be rewarded by God in the end.

This was very well done. Too bad i didn't have this around when my brother was teaching me to speak. He was a great teacher, though. He was all about phonics. Great rhymes and greater examples of how those words can be misspelled in certain contexts. Great work! Holly

Yes, my friend, just sound it out! I have heard the Chinese say that English is the hardest language to learn, I suppose because it is a mish-mash of so many different languages.
Perhaps, but I still love the wordplay you did in this one!

That sure is a nutty photograph. It's so left field. But glad it inspired you to write this poem. Good sense of humor. Nice flow of rhythm and rhymes. Excellent work.
