This is so beautifully written. Both his hands touch her both eyes focus on hers. He embraces her he lets her feel his heartbeat. This baby she chose to keep. Very heartwarming words. Beautiful photo.

A very touching commentary on a precarious moment of decision. I like the picture of that baby needing to be close, fed, and comforted. He bonds and allows her to feel his heartbeat. Thanks for sharing.

This is a good example of an ekphrastic poem. The words here describe the scene shown in the painting of the Holy mother and child. It is perfect for the Christmas season.

A beautiful poem that captures the essence of a love that was born from choice. The right choice. Thank you for sharing these uplifting sentiments. It provides much food for thought.

This a beautiful poem about motherhood, and I guess what you would call babyhood. She is his entire world, just as he is hers. He touches her constantly for reassurance, which she is happy to provide. There is no greater feeling and no stronger bond. The picture you chose is gorgeous. Nice work!

Thank you for your review and kind words. The picture is taken from a Caravaggio painting.

A tender poem that captures both babyhood and motherhood. Gorgeous art accompanying the poem also. I see some parallelism going on: Both his hands touch her
Both his eyes focus on hers
Neat post.

Well i am certainly glad she chose to keep the baby.
It makes the reader wonder if there was a time she considered not keeping the baby boy.
Anywho, this was lovely to read.

Hello Mark!
Lovely.
And realistic.
Not every mother chooses to keep her child.
I am very fortunate never to have been in the situation to give up any child of mine. Unbearable.
I appreciate how you lead your readers to the final line. Kudos.
