Hey there Alex
I love this poem with its Irish brogue. You have a way of expressing the thoughts of your poetic heart so well. Have a magnificent 2013

This a wonderful and memorable wish for a happy 2013 to all the FS members - dead or alive (I mean active or inactive). This poem can wake them from their slumber and write a poem to wish happy tidings for the new year. The celebration, the joy and the fun, will not diminished until the break of dawn and beyond. Good write, excellent slang and the nits and wits are all hanging on a fine line in balance, LOL. Dangling as a delicious bait for the new year to arrive in 2 days time, LOL. Cheers.

What a superb poem you write Alex.
My grandmother who originally came from northern England
Lancashire, would also have the last person to walk into the home at night. A lump of black sooty coal along with bread.
You brought back to me a memory I had long ago forgotten.
Your writ is most pleasing to read and drink in.
I hold a toast to you wishing you good health and contentment, for the coming four seasons.
Kindest regards Trimple :)

I am glad I read your poem. It is a wonder time to start over and reminisce about the past. I like the flow and rhyme but not so sure of the Haggis!! Happy New Year..Dan

How well do you describe the way Hogmanay is celebrated in Scotland. I was just thinking last night, I had not seen anything by you so long. Possibly I lost you as a fan. I will correct that. Nice picture!! Happy Hogmanay to you and yours.

HI! alexgardiner. What a great way to start a new year, with a really hearty Belly Laugh, and however did you manage to get hold of a copy of that picture of my Mother-in-Law wearing her Christmas Party Dress? A lovely smiley poem to brighten, what is here in the UK, a horrendous cold and very, very wet holiday. Thanks for lifting the spirits,(in more ways than one!) A Vert Happy Hogmanay to you and yours. wiljacro.
