Wow,Debbie, this is beautiful! I am so enthralled with this poem - I must copy it for my keeper file, with your permission of course. "fenceposts topped with ice cold caps" and "chilled ballerinas" and "wintertime mirror" - heck, I'd better stop or I'll be re-writing the whole thing!

Hi Debbie, I think haiku/senryu suite should be renamed haiku/senryu epic. This was crafted with the skill level of a samurai words woman, wow I got giddy counting syllables, a truly mammoth.a task done to perfection. May your Christmas turn out as good as this poem,I will then know you have had the best. Kindest admiration James xx
This is the only way I could show you ****** if you had them available, they definitely would be here!!

'neath snow laden trees
moonlight reflects icy crust
wintertime mirror

Beautifully written Debbie. You highlighted all of the ever present times of winter and made sure we didn't miss a one. Sigh.

each stanza in this suite is in good 5/7/5 form except the very last one where col/or/ful/lights/twink/le is 6 syllables
gorgeous descriptive detail throughout - for instance, I love the scalloped snow drifts
nice touches of alliteration in phrases like cold caps and fresh fallen
fresh-fallen hexagons - add the hyphen
so many vignettes that perfectly capture the essence of winter :-) Brooke

Oh, Brooke, I thought I changed that to colored, but for some reason it won't let me. Then I tried to put a note that I knew it was wrong. It wouldn't let me do that either. It won't seem to let me edit anything at all> I finally decided to let evil eddie have his Christmas joke on me. Hope you are having a good one~Debbie

First flakes gently land

primi fiocchi delicatamente atterrare
tavolozza autunnale cancellati
fioriture invernali da caduta

sempreverdi coperti
recinti condita con calotte di ghiaccio freddo
neve decorazione

raffiche di vento vivacemente
twirl esagoni fresca caduti
ballerine refrigerati

gelo crea vetro acidato
nevischio vento guidato sfilate strade
bagliore camino accolto

auto negoziare
derive scalloped linea strade ghiacciate
il caos creato

giorni corti con lunghe notti
apprezzamento giovani innamorati
mistero notturno

"Neve alberi carichi di Neath
chiaro di luna riflette la crosta ghiacciata
inverno specchio

strilli e risate sentito
bambini pattinare sul laghetto ghiacciato
Natale vacanza

bianco diventa grigio sporco
un ulteriore livello scende
mondo è di recente purificato

luci colorate brillano
pini vestito per la stagione
vacanze sono qui

I have to admit, when it comes to poetry - it's all foreign to me.

Thanks for sharing this lovely poem and please have a Happy Holiday. JW

The rather cursive writing can be a bit hard to read especially the 's'. That aside, the descriptive prose of the season of Christmas is so beautiful. the imagery concise and radiates some natural forms of beauty inherent in the winter scene. Start of the snowflakes, laughter and merry making, lovers night out and the mood is just right. Good expression, prose, and excellent imagery description. Cheers.
