This pantoun shouts the stark realities of these seemingly hopeless homeless drug addicted people. The structure of the poem disappears in the visceral images.

Thank you for sharing your reflections on homelessness with us and making it clear in your notes that this poem is not autobiographical. I admired your taking on the persona and using the Pantoum as your vehicle, with its rhymed quatrains and repeats for this poignant theme. -Joan

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

I wonder the statistics on homeless people
who are there entirely from additions. Most
likely staggering...You've done an exceptional
work and I can see how this kind of thing gets
to people. How can you throw your God given
life away for such destructive things. Sad.

Thank you Mystery, for the review and the Six Stars. I was hesitant to post this because I would rather write about beauty, but this just spilled out.

I appreciated this Pantoum poem~a graphic description of a very serious reality...human beings living at the lowest level of poverty. Treischel +I gave you a 5 star rating~thinking that an alteration of the line "Work for me? No, not a chance"...be for a classical 6 star work.

The potential of "Hopeless Homeless"~being understood could lead to a whopper of a poem...drinking to forget their destitution. O~by the way...this is the Word of the Lord found in Proverbs. Thanks for sharing~looking foward to more...lovingly uncleJohn

Thank you Uncle John for this encouraging review. I was a bit hesitant on this one. Experimenting with the Pantoum format.

I'll say Treischel. Wow talk about getting down and dirty. This one holds the award for that. But it is true. hard core drug addicts and homeless will do just that.

Its really sad to see people on the street living for a high. And not thinking about anything else but getting high. This is a very expressive story in a poem. Well done.

Thank you Deorre. I was afraid it's too graphic.
