Treischel,
The poem gives one much to think about. I have often said that our children are mirrors of ourselves. As long as the family continues to sprout new branches, I live on.
Godspeed,
Curtis

Yes, you captured the gist.

Another turn of notions left to spin
this one gives lie to 'I' not a bit like him.'
The truth will out, will youngsters see again,
and give contempt a sorely needed trim?

This is a beautiful piece of poetry that encapsulates life and procreation. The words you used are profound and inspire deep thought. Very well done.

This was such a well thought out and crafted piece of writing- excellent use of the monorhymes. I can see why it won first place. Great work and something to think about especially for many who have lost families. Great work and Happy Thanksgiving! Holly

Brilliant, absolutely described immortality to a T . Don't think I've read a more enjoyable monorhyme. I understand why you won. Congratulations!
Very creative subject matter choice, I liked the color palette and that illustration is amazing, quite surreal.
As an old guy myself with a young daughter, but also adult children who have given me grandchildren, you definitely see the seed being recreated. A thoroughly enjoyable read. Thanks for the pleasure. Garth

I really like the subject matter. We always try to fight it, being as our parents were or continue to be. I loved this poem and found it refreshing and interesting. You really have a way with words and the picture is great. I want one like that.
Look forward to reading more and would love to hear what you think of my work.

One can tell from the read that this was a winner - or, at least, very high on the list! Nice job with the rhymes. Monorhyming can be a bit difficult..lots of snares and traps but you handled it well - nothing "forced" or "shoe-horned"!
