This was a wonderful and warm poem for a loved one. My only reservation is that if you were to promise such things to most anyone, the answer would be yes! LOL The promise of riches alone would attract many unsavory characters in you world. So be careful what you promise if you truly want to know what's in a person's heart. :)
Nicely done.

THE POEM HAS BEEN ABLE TO GIVE US A TRUE ROMANTIC SENSE.LOVE FOR NATURE AND INNOCENCY ,TWO QUALITIES OF ROMANTIC POEM ARE QUITE REFLECTED HERE.IT GIVES THE READERS A PICTORIAL BEAUTY.BUT THERE IS A CHANCE TO MAKE IT IMPERSONAL.

Thanky you, it is not a personal poem as you have mentioned. None of my work is, I just write what ever comes into my head and you then read the outcome. All of my work is totally fiction. It is a honour to know though that whilst you have read ' I give to you ' I have portrayed emotions which makes you then think that my poem must of oviously been an outcome of what has happened to me at some point. So I thank you for that

NO M NOT SAYING THAT IT IS QUITE PERSONAL BUT TO ELEVATE IT INTO THE FEELING OF EVERYONE

It is a very beautiful poetry. The flow of this poetry is wonderful That how an author promises a rose and wants his/her mate to be mesmerised by the beauty of it and fall in love with him/her in return.

Comment from visionary1234
such wistfulness here and the rose, of course, is the perfect image of unattainable perfection.
If I promised you a Rose ,
Would you be mesmerised by it's(its) beauty
And so would you give to me your love. (?) Your poem is written with lots of questions, but no question marks?
These are only minor spags of course ... doesn't stop me enjoying your lovely piece! Good luck in the contest!

Thanks visionary1234, These slight errors have been rectified , glad you enjoyed ' I give to you ' and so could see the poem first , not the errors
-
absolutely - spags are minor things and easily fixed - certainly nothing to do with stars or all that nonsense - so long as the writing itself is good, which yours is my dear! :) Sharyn

Good day to you Parisjean
Now I believe you are referring to a male lover writing this poem to his sweetheart?
I liked it and if I was the lady I would say, "in place of all those beautiful roses, please just promise me your everlasting love and I will give you mine in return."

I give to you
A very deep poem to read I like.
If I promised you a thousand Roses
And hand picked every one
And gave to you a key,
Would you then unlock your heart
And set my aching one free.
deep poetry to read, indeed

Another lovely poem, Parisjean. You write with great emotion.
I hate roses. :-) But I understand that they are an accepted symbol of love.
