I really liked your use of personification and the "dressed/undressed" metaphor and contrast. Your pivot line and presentation are quite effective as well. Congratulations on your strong second place in the contest. Hugs- Joan

Great alliteration with dressed in December and Autumn not quite undressed. I really don't like winter much. Except for the holidays. Nice read.-Gary

Your poem is in good tanka form
I love your use of personification
good alliteration in door/dressed in December, which is also consonant with undressed
lurks is the perfect verb choice
and I find the whole concept charming that winter is trying to hurry autumn along before she finishes undressing :-) Brooke

Thanks, Brooke, for the review.

This is an excellent tanka, having both a vivid natural image and an emotional reaction to that image. I like the personification (since, unlike in haiku, personification is allowed in tanka). I particularly like the creative line "dressed in December." Best of luck to you, Jeanie Mercer

I don't know where you live Dallas, but where I live summer doesn't even know it should be undressed and long gone! I like your Tanka and liked the cleverness of winter lurking when Autmn is not ready to take her leave! That was a seamless twist. Miss you in class. I am taking rhymes and meters! Good luck in the

Hi Dallas,
A cute poem, in good tanka form. You've presented a wonderful picture here, of what we have to "look forward to." Good pivot line, and perfect artwork. Thanks for entering the contest!

Thanks. I like the freedom of a tanka. Still love Haiku but the rules aree not as rigid here.

Hi Dallas! I love the satire in this tanka. You have a great connecting line that serves as a satroi for the haiku-like first three lines and begins the final two reflective lines. Great alliteration, not overdone. Love the humor in the last two lines. Best of luck in the contest. Hugs, Sue
