I'm ever sorry sweetie - such a feeling is so hard to deal with when in such a spot - I hope for a speedy recovery for your father and your sense of normalcy taken from shock and emotion - thanks for sharing

I really feel for the character in the poem and her emotions are definitely something I can relate to. I was 22 years old when my father died and and I felt very much the same.

So sorry to hear about your father wordsareus. It's about my father who is ill just now and I'm struggling with my inability to cry just now. Once again thank you for your review. Jaq x

You have captured well the TEMPORARY feelings of many who undergo trauma. We seem to only have so much of the right kind of emotions and sometimes, under sustained pressure, run dry. We should not feel guilty about this; if we gave every cent we had to someone in need would we be guilty because we had no more to give? Of course not!
We are "empty" because we gave all we had already. We will fill up again and perhaps we will even weep again over what emptied us in the first place. See; you are a good writer because you make your readers identify and think!

Deniz22 you are so right, they will be temporary feelings, it's just hard when all around are falling to pieces. Thanks for your very generous review. I am humbled. Jaq x

Aww, Jaq, such a poinant, heartfelt write. We all deal with things in different ways, and if your father makes a good recovery then your tears would be wasted. I wish you and him all the best

Oh I am so sorry to hear about your dad's surgery. I sure hope he will be OK. I think it is normal to feel numb and not be able to cry. You are hanging on to a lot of emotion right now. Those emotions will catch up to you in time. You are likely using all your energy to be brave for your dad right now.

Hey Sweetie, just because you can't cry doesn't mean you don't care. Different poeple react differently to these highly emotionally charged situations. You have nothing to feel guilty about. You may find the tears will come when you are sure your father is out of danger and on the road to recovery.
You have done what works for you, and that is to write down how you are feeling. Your piece is raw and honest and its yours. Be gentle with yourself Jaq, things will settle and fall into place. Big hugs. Liz.x

Hey there Liz, it's a hard one as usually I can show emotion, maybe it's because my daughter and my mum are upset and I don't feel able to do so. Thanks a lot, Jaq x
