THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The same muse that whispered inspiration to my mother and father also whispered inspiration to you. I am flabbergasted by the poem's similarity. There are so many points where your poem overlapped my parents':

Fluid energy sculpting Earth's graceful curves
Who consigned the chemistry of fireflies' glow?

I read your poem with my mouth open and with tears in my eyes. I am astounded.

This is what I am trying to explain in my story: that poems represent connection. I am trying to find how my parents where connected through poetry. I have a sixth sense to see and feel what others cannot see. We are connected through poetry.

Reading your poem is the high point of my month. Thank you for sharing.

    Hi Sis Cat,

Oh my, I didn't expect this. Yes, your story chilled me when I read your Mom's poem. I was taken aback. My poem, originally was very very long. I had so much to say, but realized no one would read it. I believe it was also chosen for pom, but of course, never won. I didn't mean to make you cry. Thank you very much for your continued support of my work.. Jimi

Wait until you see my father's poem "What is the Right Chemistry?" in the next chapter.

Who hung the moon so you could dream
And sprinkled stars for you to wish upon
Who told the moon to move aside
For you to wake when dreaming's done

pretty

Who draped the sun in golden rays
To nourish life and give us light
Who told it once its place to stay
Where it best proves its might

profound

Who taught the birds to spread their wings
And soar to mountains far and bold
And with its wings inspired all men
To soar with dreams to heights untold

i love it. this poem is riveting!

Who poured the seas in vessels strong
With life teaming in fathom's deep
Who drew the line where shores belong
Where far rolling waves should only creep

lovely

Who consigned the chemistry of fireflies' glow?
WOW

Who painted the sunset in gilded hues
And commanded the seas to ebb and flow
In syncopated time, like dancing shoes
As man stands in awe of twilight's show

beautiful query

Who calibrated the expanse of heaven's sphere
nice

A precision so precise, its genius plan
That stars and planets all adhere
To their order in the universal span

awesome

Who filled the lungs for new birth's cry
As a mother empties her womb of this tiny soul
This creation of life that surely vies
The moment love bonded in ecstasy's glow

what a series of epic questions!

Who dressed the landscape in its rich wardrobe

nice

With textures and heights that vary in style

cool

And decided its fabric would be a living lode
As its cycle would change in each season's while

every stanza is like a poem in and of itself, yet they all unify together so wonderfully! this is great stuff.

Who gave the elephant its wisdom and grace

nice properties to mention, creative, well put.

Who supplanted the salmon's rhythm and race

love it!

Who coaxed the spider to weave a design
With the finest silk she could produce
As each minute cord perfectly aligns
A captivating vision that will call and seduce

rad! spiders rock!

Who designed the living cell with a factory inside
With instructions to follow step by step

lol well put

Constant and sure, as the messengers would glide
To the next place of assembly in life's prep

creative rhyme!

Who dusted the butterfly with mosaic tiles?

creative genius! brilliant, beautiful.

Who sowed the desire for man to conjure and create
Music, art, words, and all that entertains his muse

what a super question

Who gave me the insight to share this with you
It's neither a riddle, nor a puzzle, to answer: Who?

creative end, i love it, this poem is magnificent. i imagine most people will say God, the next most popular answer would be the universe, and then others would say no one at all. stuff just happens. me? i favor the answer God, but then to me, the universe is God, Creation is God, so it works for me either way. i love this poem. you express ancient quandaries with avalanche eloquence.

you are so sweet and no yours was not shitty in the least bit!!! I will tell you though, the one who made the derogatory about the all the posts but you and Earl was uncalled for. He ruffled my feathers, most definitely for there were so many great great poets and poetesses in this contest. He was quite insulting. lol.. anyway friend, thank you ever so much. you are so sweet.

I love the picture. I love the poem. It works without punctuation. The poem is one big question. Who?. Your poem speaks of the greatest wonders of nature. I don't care what you call who. We are all part of a greater thing. Great work.

Jimi, I wish I had fifty stars to give you for this poem. This is truly one of you best (if not the best). This poem will defintely be nominated as Poem of the Month.

Each stanza became better than the previous one. This poem has it all -- rich imagery, wisdom, personification, thought-provoking words, perfect meter/rhyme, original phrasing, mastering of word-wordweaving. This is a classic piece. Need I say more?

My favorite stanza is the one below. I am a butterfly lover.

Who dusted the butterfly with mosaic tiles?
After they wrestled from their safe cocoon
Who instilled the emotions that spill from a smile
Or tears from the eyes when life left too soon

I am bookcasing this one. I hope you don't mind.

Life's ultimate question I suppose, and one that people have fought over since they first started asking it. Although, I have to wonder if puzzling over it as some people do is really a good use of their time? Perhaps, they should just enjoy it. ;) Excellent job!
