I like this Bic. You seem to build to a crescendo of falling bricks to replace with new. The old soul now had protection from Jesus.

Wow. That ending was really unexpected. This poem was great, especially since it was free verse. Great job and thanks so much for sharing it.

Hello, great presentation and theme! I love the depth you paint in your words, it is written in a unique style, you seem to have a mature poetic voice. It kept my interest through to the finish. : )

I love the story here and the fact that old soul remains not pinned down to a name of an individual.

I am not sure i understand the structure though - is it in a formal structure? If so and you can share I would be thrilled as I am trying to learn some more about poetry forms.

Thanks for sharing

You did a wonderful job, explaining how redemptive God's love is. It is definitely a choice one makes whether to follow Christ or the other bad one. You've devised a road map here that's plain to see for all those who choose the former. Great job!

Thank you for this.
You could be describing me.
It is nothing but grace that has been bestowed me.
Poor old soul.
Poor in spirit.
Nice work.

Hi Bic,

Most of this poem seems so bleak and I wondered if poor old soul would find his way. You have an uplifting ending which made me go back and read the poem again. I found it to be touching and evocative. This is a six star poem if only I had one. Well done....chey

Hi, this poem reminds me of a famous quote' respect yourself and you'll be respected'...I feel no soul is poor in this world if it knows it's worth....as I read somewhere 'people will treat you the way you want them to treat you, never settle for less than respect.....' I am touched excellent.....

This is such meaningful poetry. The beautiful story of a lost soul finding its way to happiness. If you can thnk of another way of describing the soul then "poor old soul", which sounds kind of comic (not suitable for this serious poem), especially repeated so many times. Just my opinion.

Very well written poem with a touching concept.

    "poor" in his condition:
"old" in his time of unrepentance:
"Soul" because thats what he is:

    many thanks,
    Bic.
