That is some funky, fresh metaphysical otherness you've jotted down here. I gotta admit, it kinda scares the pants of me. Why is God so obsessed with the old man-goo? The seed. The seed. It really makes you wonder what was going through everybody's mind back then. This paints a vivid and thought provoking picture of the evolution of our mythology. Well done. TKF
PS: How dare you use the word "Loins" in mixed company? Lol.

TK it is only natural to procreate and God decided to use it for a good purpose...one thing before we get mixed up in some sort of Masonic Brotherhood delusion of people being still addressed to Christ's bloodline...Jesus was produced by the Spirit of God in Mary's womb...get it...LOL.

You have woven a lovely poem about the original seed. Until the eighteenth century they did not know about the eggs produced by women. They thought the seed was planted in the woman like a seed planted in the earth. I like your opening verse, since the beginning came the separation. It is our greatest mystery.

Thats only according to our history, which is flawed in some if not most areas, I think others may have known.
Take the Old Testament, it talks about the uncleaness of the woman in reference to sexual intercourse, this is the period.
In the Old Testament again it talks of pain in childbearing after the fall of the curse this I believe also refers to the womans period, although some have other ideas.
The seed is used in scripture again in the old Testament to refer to the childre and possibly male sperm as is the word issue, hence "...the Assyrians had issue like horses..."

A wonderful, beautifully presented. It is full of wisdom:
Man became
As one of us to know both good and evi
This line is so true. It is up to us to keep the evil under control and let out the good. Doing that, leaves each day an experience of beauty as we worship~Debbie

Profound thoughts condensed in this free verse poem, which is excellent in it's brief Biblical history. The ending gives pause to think and ponder. The free verse works well in get you thoughts across giving it a powerful punch in simple profound words.

A beautifully crafted poem making wonderful use of archaic words.
Although I must admit ignorance of several of your biblical references and will need to look them up.
A great presentation.

Anytime Ron, the archaic language is probably down to my most now defuct Authorised Version of the Bible.
-
I consider my King Jame's version to still be the best of all bibles - but that's perhaps because I love Shakespeare's language. Ron
-
Well I love my A.V. because it is the authorised version and to be fair I did not really see the need to change, it suits me.
There was a story about a preacher, he was on a visit to America and during his visit he stopped to have a look around in a christian book store.
The preacher asked the man behind the counter, "...how many bibles do you have in here," the man please that the Reverand Dr. Ian Paisley was asking him this light up in delight and answered, "...oh Mr Paisley we have over 500 different copies of the bible in here," the reply, "...well, thats funny because my God only made one."
-
This year is exactly 400 years since the 1612 James VI. I watched a fascinating program on the British BBC about its creation. The way those writers changed the earlier works into the A.V. is pure magic. Ron
-
The way the A.V. is the way it is is to do with the memory. It was built in rhythmic verses for easy recal on the memory. Thats why I can always remember my quotes when I have to even though I have not been reading for a long time, its engrained in the memory, how handy is that...lol.

As you would have been able to tell from my last comment. I am not a poet. Nor do I profess to know much about poetry in it's various forms, but I do know what I like and what makes sense to me. My fav part here is the comment;
Now the question
Remains,
How can we tell
The seed that we are.
It asks a deep question of a soul transformed and becomes a pivotal point in spiritual growth. Thanks for sharing again.

You certainly packed much Biblical Wisdom into this smooth flowing poem! All the talk of generations - a great buildup to your question and solution. Nicely done! The red on black is very attractive, too!
