A charming little scene by the sea. Life for the family seems totally blissful now. Is all the trouble over or are you planning to bring in some complications? I don't know that the metric conversion after "3 miles" is necessary since this is a novel and not a text book. Three should be written as a word rather than a digit. You've made this place sound so appealing I must put it on my list of places to see.

There are some real complications to come. I guess on FS because the posts are quite short, the story-line can appear slow, but I hope it will not be in the final novel. Woolacombe in North Devon is truly a wonderful place, and we love The Royal Hotel. The only prob sometimes is the British weather.
