This is so sad. Definitely a crisis of faith - hoping for his survival and hoping for him to be rid of his pain. You obviously still feel the loss as clearly today as you did 28 years ago. Vey well written poem. Good luck in the contest.

The pain of losing a child is great. Our faith wavers. I lost two. I think of them in heaven and waiting for me. It was sad that the boy had such a painful existence at the end of his life. Great story. I cried.

    Thank you for your honest and open-hearted review. I am so sad that you have lost children, but I agree that we can have the assurance to see them again.

I (almost) understand how you felt. My oldest son had Leukemia when he was 2. Buts that's actually when my faith began...I'm Sorry for your loss. I'm sure the pain never ends. Fortunately my son is now 36.

    Thanks for your kind comment. How warming that, despite the trauma in your son's early life, he is now a mature young man.

Your Crisis of Faith poem, Our Boy, Wesley, is so sad. I can not imagine losing a small child. My niece lost her son at 18, this past April and the whole family is having a very hard time getting over it. However, we are grateful for the time we did have with him. He was a wonderful young man. I am sure you loved the time you had with your son too. But it does make you wonder doesn't it? That poor baby had to suffer. Thank God you still have your faith; as do I. Dakoda, my nephew, believed deeply. He would not want his death to cause any of us to lose our faith. GREAT POEM ... thanks for sharing.

This is a very touching story, and defines such a true crisis of faith. Know that your strength and dedication to the Lord is an inspiration to me. Very well structured, and well written entry, it read smoothly from beginning to end. Good luck in the contest.

Excellent Poem. The poem flowed and connected well. The artwork was perfect for the theme of the poem. It enhanced the read for me. I cried when I read this poem - it provoked many feelings for me. I am hoping one day we will have the answers to this. Thank you for a well written poem.

This work has reached the exceptional level

The little ones are always with God. He did not turn them away on earth, He will not in Heaven. King David's baby died even while "the man after God's own heart" prayed that he would live. On being told that the child had died, David got up from prayers, washed his face ans ate for the first time in a long time. To his wondering servants he said,"I will go to him, he will not return to me." Psalm 23 tells us that David's destination was Heaven.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

God bless you, Deniz

Our Boy Wesley

God is love.
Love suffers, it hates to view
what wisdom He show to us.
God created the world because of His love.

Oh I have such sorrow for you - I can't even begin to think about losing a child. I'm glad you still trust in the Lord, because frankly, I'd find it very difficult. You expressed this beautifully in your poem, so your honesty and humility shone through.
