Even more mystery. Why has the gardener been invited to the family meeting and how will it affect him? Hmmm...the suspense keeps building. I like the way you turn, in the part, from the problems of the outside world to those within the family circle. The party was lovely, but all is not well emotion-wise for various family members. Good idea having more than one problem to wrestle with. It gives the plot line some variety and complexity. Also, we get a glimpse of the softer side of the narrator. Very nicely done!
