I love a good cowboy story and this is one. Great name - Jerry Jing-Jang - it has a nice sound to it. Very well written story in a poem. Good luck in the contest.

Cute story in a poem, and a nice tribute to your dad. I can see where kids would like the ring of the name Jerry Jing-Jang.

Don't always manage too (to) think very clear.

A very entertaining poem :) It didn't always flow, but that didn't seem to matter. Very witty and quick, while still holding a full story with quite some depth and thought. I really enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing.

This is fun to read! You have great rhyme and a moral to the story here! LOL I grew up on cowboy stories and lived on a ranch for sometime. I can almost hear a tune in my head when I read this.

Thanks for sharing.

I'm so glad you liked Jerry Jing-Jang. A few people have said they could hear a tune. I have zero talent for music, but maybe I should find someone to write one. Thanks for this wonderful review.

This is a lovely story. I was raised on westerns and this poem is in the classic western format so far as storyline and content go.There is great flow and rhythm in each line :) Tina

Hi Cindy! I love the name Jerry Jing-Jang. I can just hear his spurs jing-janging lol. This is a lovely cowboy story. I envy you having a dad to tell such tales to you as a child. Definitely got my cowboy fix with this one :)

"Don't always manage too think very clear." - I thought it should be "to" and not "too".

I wonder if you could break this up into stanzas. It was hard on my eyes to read the lines so close together. Could be just me.

That typo is fixed now. Thanks for catching it. I'm thinking of breaking it up. I just have to figure out where. A few people thought it would be easier to read that way, and I want it to be kid-friendly. Thanks for this wonderful review.

What a great way to preserve the stories your dad told you as a kid. I liked the rhyme and flow to this poem. Very descriptive of the old west. It's not easy to create a poem this long and hold onto all the rhyming, so great job with that! Good luck in the contest.

Aaaahhhh what a joy and pleasure to read Cindy. Love his name: Jerry Jing-Jang, inspired. Your father obviously had a way with words that you have inherited.

Your poem was cleaver, witty and oh so original. The flow and use of rhyming was excellent all the way through.

A very worthy six in my opinion.

Thank you for sharing. A great read, Pete
