I like this little doodle called the essence. I can imagine what secrets friends share on a hot lazy day by a stream.

Good luck in the contest. It sounds like a winner to me. PP

I love the picture.. I love the poem. Young live blossoming by the stream. Where better than where all life begins, right next to the water. Great work.

Your poem is in good essence form with two 6 syllable lines that contain a strong internal rhyme and a strong end-line rhyme
Good pairing of beside/inside and streams/dreams
I also like the rather dream-like quality of the scene you create :-) Brooke

Poet,
Your Essence poem is very well written with vivid imagery painting a portrait in the readers head. The art work is pretty you used. Your essence poem is in fine form with spot on syllable count of 6-6 and you used excellent internal and external rhymes. In your essence poem you've also used very good metaphor and great allitetation usage with the S & W lines.
I like all of your lines: "secrets wait beside streams where fate hides inside dreams" I wish you good luck in the Essence writing prompt contest with your well composed essence poem. I'd recommend your essence poem to other readers. Thanks for sharing your essence poem. I bid you a nice day.
Missy

This does remind me of sitting along the waters with a friend talking about secrets we shared - just as your artwork suggests. This is a very well written essence poem with correct syllable and rhyme. Good luck in the contest.

The mystery lies in the first line. What secrets are reflected in a flowing stream. Are they the stuff of dreams? And inside those dreams lies our fate. Freud said a man's personality is his fate. Still what is fate? Is it something pre-ordained' Something in the stars; or just the pattern of our future. Only time will tell and it is said that time is a flowing stream. So you have written a thought provoking poem. - Ekim

Yes... time is a flowing stream and there is mystery and secrets within the stream and reflected from the stream. Sometimes we flow along with the stream and our relfections and perceptions become the stuff of dreams. Where the stream flows could be our future and dreams might find tributaries. Perhaps fate knows the ultimate destination of all rivers, streams and dreams. Can we be happy living in the here and now, and content with our dreams? Can our free will change the course of events? Perhaps - it's fun to ponder the possibilities. Thanks Ekim - So glad you found this essence poem a thought-provoking one. Appreciate all your thoughts ...;)

Great photo for your poem. You followed the prompt very well. Most people who write 2-3 line poems, write them vey choppy and they don't really follow anything. You how ever, wrote one very well. Would love to read more of your work
