You mean the kid is smart like Sheldon from big bang Theory. Is it hard to write a really smart person? I wonder. Anyways, great job with this piece.

Yes, he is a slightly refined Sheldon and it is really hard to write about and from the point of view of a genius...it exhausts me.

I bet.

Another great chapter, Sasha...
I sometimes it's better not to know the
truth, as the more this poor family finds
out the more pain they suffer - James is
so young to take such a load on his shoulders.
I place(d) my hand
Tomorrow(,) I would
I have sixes, but I'm still blocked
from giving them where one is deserved.

It's amazing how things can change from one year to the next.
That is quite an interesting story (so far) that was written in the diary. I can't wait to hear more.

I guess Dad figured if it was written in Romani, no one would ever be able to read it. Glad you like it so far.

I can see what is going to happen. You just want us to set on the rock and keep wondering what's going to happen. This is what keeps the mine working, Wondering.

Hi Smurph,
Your author's notes are interesting and I have never heard about the Bride kidnapping. I'm sure there are many superstitions in the Gypsies community. I have no doubt that James will translate the rest of the journal but what will he find there? I think he may find out something he will wish he didn't know. Excellent writing here....blessings, chey

Thanks for the great review. Yes, James is going to find lots of things he will wish he didn't find.

What a strange twist this has taken. I find it fascinating.
The idea of "bride kidnapping" is abhorrent.
James' family lineage is dark.
Can't wait to see what the rest of the journal holds.

It comes from an ancient Romaniab (Romani Gypsy) superstition. There are many stories of this happening but few have been officially documented.

Hi Sasha,
I'm always so charged when I see a pm from you because this story is so gripping.
I'm glad Mom's in the hospital, too. She's long overdue for a chat with someone trained to help her. I feel sorry for everyone involved, but I have to say, of all of them, my heart goes out to her.
Great job, and I'm waiting for the next installment. Are you planning on publishing this one when it's done?
Hugs,
Gayle

Mom is really in the worst position of all the family. As a mother myself, I can relate to her guilt, frustration, confusion, and even her denial.
Comment from psalmist
I was afraid that his mom would have a breakdown. This is like a sore that has been allowed to fester, and finally is lanced to allow all the pus to drain. Hopefully, the family will be able to put their lives back together. I find James to be a strong character. Never giving up, yet still compassionate. The journal intrigues me, I look forward to more. Hi Smurphy
This story is becoming really creepy.
We are delving inside a sick perverted mind.
What is so scary is these fantasies can become reality.
A sick freak in Belgium kept young woman as prisoners and made them bare his children.

Yes, these are all too often true.
