'More Questions for Mom' is a good chapter with the mother's response to questions. As in the last chapter, I felt it odd that nothing came from Emily, not a word or a simple movement.

Good read!

I really hope that everthing comes out alright for James mother. But the question is did she have anything to do with this. You always have to look at it that way, to get the big picture.

You are right. I'll alleviate some of the worry. The police don't suspect her of any wrong doing.

This is a sad chapter.
James has lost both his father and his mother.
He is paying a high price for being the only one in the family will to look reality straight in the eye.
You have painted a stark picture of self-serving denial and how it works in a dysfunctional family unit.

Denial is totally debilitating and can tear a family apart.

I am totally stuck without words to describe my perplexed
feelings on this write,as James is trying so hard not to
cause any more enternal trauma then neccessary, attempting
to be as gentle as possible but satisfy his real need for
viable answers before the brutalness of the investigating
officers of the law stepped in....This really broke my heart literally,my very being understanding how cold reality can hit ones psyche after living so long in a world
of absolute denial....Oh!!!!my friend so superbly well written....I am all into this....Cranial Thinker

James' mother is in a really bad place. I am not sure he will be able to help her. I know he will try. You continue to do a really good job.

Ah, Sasha, what a heart wrenching scene that was with James and his mother falling apart like that. I bet it was hard to write.
I wish I had a six left, because although short, this one was super duper.
Hugs,
Gayle

Greetings, SG. I found this chaper mesmerizing. Now, I have not read any other chapters, but this was so well written that I was able to jump right in and get a very good feel for everything that's happened prior - though, I do plan to check out previous chapters. Super plotting and dialogue. Warm regards, Bev

Your posts always leave me wanting more. You are doing a great job building and developing the plot, getting into the characters' thoughts and emotions, and making them believable. Well done as always. Linda

this poor boy... It's a wonder
he doesn't go off the rails, and
not his mother. Just how much
more can the family take, I
wonder?
Such an intriguing read... full of tension.
