Your poem gives me the feeling of flying - which I imagine is what a horse rider feels. There is a unique noise of leather creaking and the rich smell of the manure and natural scents of a horse. Oh, how I wish I could ride!

Hi Sherry! Thank you, and I do wish you could be here to go with me. I have three horses that very seldom are worked with anymore. I'm in Laf. In. just in case! Stop on by, and thanks again for this kind review! xoxo< Susan

Wow, you're racking up the accolades.

Congrats on this win.

It's a beautiful visual painted with tender solitary sentiments.

Fabulous entry for the nonet poem contest, my friend! Loved the imagery you created and the feel of the spectacular views and peace. You captured the relationship of horse to rider :) Good luck, Marcia

I loved everything about this. The picture, the theme, the use of strong cowboy words. It felt like it put me there. Good luck! Stan

I loved this poem, and I love horses too...and the visions you draw with your words latent desires of freedom, of riding away into the unknown. Thank you.

Hey Lily! Thank YOU! I'm glad you like horses...I have three, but am unable to ride just now. Too much going on nearby and surgery too. I sure enjoy your notes, and also these extra stars...hugs and many more thanks! Luv, Susan

Thanks. And I just noticed I have missed one word in my commnent, it was supposed to say "raise latent desires..."

Hi Ted! Glad you liked this...someday, I won't even be able to climb into a saddle anymore. Hopefully another summer or two. Thank you for a kind note...Susan

Remember, John Wayne was still riding when he made "The Shootist" and he was fighting cancer at the time.

    Hang in there.

I love this, Susan!!! I love that you feel at one with your horse when you are riding. I know that feeling and you write it well here. Nothing better than riding in the mountains-the feel and smell and sound of the leather saddle. And seeing the amethyst dawn, too!! You capture the feeling perfectly in this nonet and make me crave it. Love the ending. Dana

Hi Dana! How are you?? Sure wish I could ride again. Maybe someday....right now just waiting to heal and get stronger...if you can, you should ride every day! I would. But I know you have your business too. I'm so glad you were inspired by this one. I love the early morning....but usually too tired to enjoy it. lol! Thanks again Dana! xoxo, Susan
