What a nice compliment. Starting something in the middle and enjoying it is hard to do.

Alright, now I can get back to reading this story. I find it amazing that I can remember so much. But that's not what you want to hear. The story is very good and the way you make it so a person can sit in the room with them is how good it is.

3rd last paragraph: (Shed)....? She stared
As well as being dramatic, this chapter is informative. You've done a fabulous job of describing Susan's condition and once again, the feelings of her family. Giddy

Even though James now considers himself the head of the family, Charlie is showing signs of 'manning up' also. Sorry about your computer trouble. I hope it doesn't take long to fix.

This is a heart wrenching chapter in the way you describe the girls condition. Seems out of experience. I am looking forward to future installments.
A couple of small things showed up:
"For some patients, PTSD (it) is a single

Thanks for catching the spags. You are correct. I was diagnosed with PTSD 20 years ago and am quite familiar with it symptoms and treatments.

Hi,Val. How have you been? Sorry, I have been away so very long. I cannot possibly catch up on your entire story right now, but as I read this one I was reminded of what a truly fine writer you are. Your imagery is superb. Like:
"She paused, and then laying one album on the chair beside her, opened the other, and began slowly flipping through the pages. She gently touched each photograph as though saying goodbye to a memory long gone. When she came to a picture of Dad, she removed it, opened her purse, and took out a pair of scissors, and methodically cut his image from the photograph; dropping each one onto the rug as though nothing more than garbage. Mom went through every page of both albums removing all evidence of Dad."
Outstanding write. Bob

I worked in several psychiatric facilities and you have described the best aspects of this one. It's usual to have families feel shock at how their relatives appear, no matter how well they are being treated. Good writing!!
