I could only think about the Green Mile in the very profound write...I could see the person reminiscing about what has moved them from one extreme of life to another and finally to the end of the line...I think you did a fine job of moving the theme and journey through the readers mind...very nice...I truly enjoyed...Free

We all will walk the line from time to time. I liked the way you chose to format this verse. It reads smoothly and easily down the page. This was just a very enjoyable piece of poetic art to have read... John

First,
it opens to let all in,
then
it closes that nothing may win

This verse stood out for me... an excellent write, my friend! Kudos, Jack

Glad you liked, the door of life. Many we come across some open some shut but your heart and mine can choose whether it will open or close...

Very deep spiritual feelings here I feel and sense Negative emotions cause negative. Forgiveness love faith truth . Positive brings positive and opens the door to our soul but all I feel IS SADNESS in this the picture fits the message it says to me is the door is closed REGRET

Well in a strange way the door is closed in this poem and depending what you read out of it the individual it could be opening another door by walking the line, a reference to marriage conveyed by the Johnny Cash song.

Or if you see it as a literal picture of a prisoner, maybe he is on death row and about to walk the line on last time, in which case the door is closed.

There is always forgiveness and maybe in both cases the individual has come to realise that, which makes it not so depressing...

    Just a thought.

Sorry if I have offended you but it was not meant to and yes I can see it more clearly now you have explained thank you so much

No offence it`s just that I try to improve where I need to.

The four suggests slight revision whereas a five suggests that it is what its supposed to be with no correction...

    No worries...

Very well written and expressed, creative as hell.

Indeed you couldn't have used a better man to write a poem about. I've always liked Cash, though Country Music is not my thing respect must be given where it's deserved.

This was a exceptional read - very well written and expressed loved your closing lines and great use of imagery for this.. Happy I had a six for you its blocked me from many other people, thanks for the read it was a pleasure

Im much the same Tammy not a big country fan but Johnny I love to bits and have utmost respect for his music...

I hope you enjoy what I have to offer on the free verse front and hope I can improve linguistically and with a sense of spirit that becomes your standard and others for that matter...

    much love

Be it a poem, prose or painting or Music,

This is a grand bit of poetic voice wanting to be heard. You are so right, I could visualize Johnny Cash singing the blues over this one. Nicely crafted
