Poet,
your cheeky poem is cleverly written with superb use of personification of a cat and dog. The art works is adorable you used. Your words paint vivid imagery in the readers head. Excellent alliteration, great rhyme and rhythm cap off your cute poem. I love it and your third stanza of the dog is my favorite: "A dog can't chase a cat when she won't run She acts like it's her job to be the queen. It's obvious she never will be fun, and I'm not happy when she on the scene." And I enjoyed the fifth stanza with the cat's opinion: "I've never had to obey any rule. I'm capable of making up my own. I don't think Dog's obedience is cool I only want him to leave me alone." Your poem is an excellent entry in the Animal Opinions writing prompt. I wish your delightful poem good luck in the contest. I'd recommend your funny poem to other reviewers. You won my vote with the humor. Keep on writing with a funny bone and have a nice day. I'm a cat person myself.
Missy.

Very nice, Author. And very creative.
I love the he said/she said aspect of this.
I also like that you didn't 'over-cute'
these pets. I can really believe these differences.
Best of luck at the polls.

I modeled them after the cat and dog that live in my house. They totally ignore each other. Thanks again Lee. I really appreciate you reading and commenting.

I like this. It is unique and has an original theme. The comparison of cat to dog temperment is very well done. The rhyme and flow are good.

This is well-written and I see where you're coming from..this is a contest and this is an entry...it has such a human sound..O know it's meant to be funny...but it expresses the same attitude to towards someone different than themselves..maybe you can turn around and do a challenge to do a poem from the animal kingdom that will point out some way those that are different can learn to get along...I'm not sensoring you, from some reason it made me feel sad...why can't the animal kingdom, mankind learn to let each be who they are and get along? I would say I was having a hormonal moment but I'm past that,,don't know what to chalk the moment up to..Good job. God bless.

Thank you for reading and for your comments. That thought didn't occur to be to ascribe the attitude towards humans. In the animal kingdom, some very different species become great friends in spite of their differences. In my case, I have a nine year old chihuahua and my friend ask me to keep her cat until she sold her house. The cat is nineteen years old now and very set in her ways. The dog and cat totally ignore each other probably because they've never been around other animals. This is the perspective I was coming from while trying to be funny. You do have a point however and I do which everyone could get along despite their differences.

I like your poem very much. Its very clever to contrast the opinions of the dog and cat of each other. Their opinion's of each other feed off of common sterotypes of cats being aloof and dogs being man's best friend. The dog thinks the cat's stuck up and the cat thinks the dog's a suck up. Very cute.

Wait till they start fighting and making one hell of a racket. This was a very cute poem written in dual perspectives. This was just a delight to have read and written this response for... John

Thank you Kingsland, I really appreciate the review and you nice comments. I'm so glad you liked it. I have a chihuahua and I'm keeping a cat for friend (for two years now I've had her.) The dog and cat totally ignore each other.

You have really captured the differences between the two species. I'm a lover of both dogs and cats so I immediately recognised character traits of both. Only 1 SPAG - "His irritating barks keeps me awake" - should be keep.
It was amusing and the picture you chose was very cute. Overall, I enjoyed it.
