This is a very sweet little piece. I love the personification in the last line - I can almost see a coy little smile peeking out from under the petals. Very well done, and good luck in the contest.

The poem itself is lovely however the contrast between the text and the background have spoiled this as it makes it very difficult to read

Thank you Stranger...but I don't understand...just meant the raindrops didn't affect the flower's beauty, that was the contrast. Sorry that it was confusing, but I really appreciate this review. Have the happiest day!

Your poem is in good 5/7/5 form
I like the use of alliteration in pink petals and the way raindrops picks up the P sound and the personification of the raindrops
this is lovely and complements the photo perfectly :-) Brooke

Good 5-7-5 haiku.It brought a smile to my lips,the picture and the haiku. I have never seen a rose of Sharon in that shade,no wonder it inspired you. Very lovely and well done.

Thank you so much, Daph. The color has been enhanced some, but it's original is awfully close to what you see--it's in my yard still in bloom:) This is a nice review.
