A timely observance of a phenomenal event on American soil, Mike K2.
Your work reflects skill in a sobering poem of significance for dreamers.I note that you reference "illusion" in your poem.
I want to build on that, as related to the evil of terrorism.
Sure, some innocent persons suffered. Survivors were victims as well, many with lingering grief.

A core devil, the perpetrator of evil was a system of warped economic ideology. Leaders obsessed with acquisition of gold and glory pursued riches at the expense of people.

Speaking of vision, sorting out values, terrorists might have benefited from guidance away from heretical religion. A part of the story was that Taliban and Islamic extremists believed they would be rewarded with a bevy of gorgeous women in the next world.. Those in collusion to hijacking those planes were brainwashed to commit suicide in their mission.

Is there not great significance in targeting the World Trade Center? Suppose for a few minutes that those Arabs had witnessed better models of social justice, more progressive government, instead of wanton greed calloused to starving millions around the world.
What is America's best security? It's troubling that nations' exalt military hardware and regimentation as a substantial help.

I thank you for your review. Not only significance but symbolism as well. It's not about government, but control over many, or a few.

But good governments exist to provide basic fundamentals such as protection, paths to commerce and trying to provide order and morality, if not, you get places like Baltimore were I live, that just as with the aims of the terrorists, are infested with crime and dangerous conditions. Same thing, the acts aren't held accountable and excused.

This is a six in every written word inclusive of the authors notes. I cringe each and every year just a little bit more than every other day in our country. I understand your stress of living in one of our Urban cities and what you see, hear, read and experience each and everyday. I made a conscious decision after 9/11 to plan in retirement as far away from a major city as I could without giving up on needed services as aged. On 9/11 I lived in San Francisco, we thought we would be the next target.

Well done Mike, a great poem. Articulate with great imagery, the free verse, is deeply moving with superb language, and a greatly appreciated work of art. The towers stood again in us all. Let's hope the like of this day, will never been seen again. Well done my friend. Grace to you, Mike, blessings, Roy

This speaks the historic fall of the towers and depicts the devastation and remembering the 9/11 terrorist attack and appeals all leaders of all countries must realize terrorists are an evil to wipe out; well said, well done.

The fact that planes are no long flying.

Did you mean no longer flying? This piece is so full of emotion I thought you were there! This is very well written and astounds me with it's passion. Great read.

The tragedy of 9-11 will forever be in our minds. The heartache won't be erased. Our security as a nation has been diminished. Your poem has a nice rhyming scheme and the cadence is smooth.

I agree with all that you say, except in reference to security because many terrorist attempts have been thwarted. I pray too, everyday some terrorist doesn't slip through the cracks. Now adays we have to be vigilant that security measures a plied with common sense and doesn't overly burden us and are fair.

I thank you for your compliments and this review. Mike

Thank you for a somber tribute both in words and art. I can't remember if you read my poem that I posted probably about a year ago "We are landing in Gander"? It was based on the book by Jim Defede "The Day The World Came to Town" 9/11 in Gander, Newfoundland. I think you would enjoy the Christopher Award winning book which is probably available in your public library.

Thank you for this very well written, documented poetry and images. 9/11 need not to have happened, but did because government agencies would not work together.

I have been caught between agencies before and it takes a bit of effort and creativity to get them to work toghter. In many ways, the various floor sweepers all seemed to miss pieces of straw that caught fire. Unfortunately it takes something like this to bring common sense into the picture. I thank you for your compliments and this review. Mike
