I like this story from beginning to end. A dog, named Mac, being euthanized for have an incurable disease. And the way the owner expressed her feelings for the loss of the dog is something like she is losing a human being. The feeling is deep, penetrating and touching. Towards the end, you can feel her sadness, the understanding of what is happening--the only reasonable thing to do. The pain and the love are there I could feel them both deep inside me. Congratulations for a story well written. Dom

thanks, again. Dom, for this exceptional review. Even just reading the reviews still bring tears to my eyes. Gwen, his twin, still looks for him every day and gives me an ugly look whenever I come home without him. I think I'm going to have to take her to the animal shelter and let her pick out a playmate. love, jan

Hello, this is a very touching story. I couldn't agree more about pets. Ours are part of the family. Actually, I think I would have an empty space if I didn't have pets of some kind.

At least you can comfort yourself knowing a faithful freind didn't suffer as he rested on your knee.

Thanks for sharing your story, and I am sorry for your loss, kind regards, Rebekah.

thanks, Rebekah -- you are right -- I've never had one just plant his head on my knee so naturally like that -- I miss him so much -- love, jan

You did a beautiful job of bringing this sad situation to life. I could relate to your grief. I loved the way you made him as comfortable as you could up to the end. T2
