Jan, so sorry to hear about Mac's condition. I know how
very special dogs can be . They truly are a part of your
family. They love us. It's amazing.

Hello Jan
God it hurt when I read the result of your wonderful friend's test who you love so much

I have been through it many times.

Yes it breaks ones' heart
I knew there was no hope what so ever when we had to put five dogs down one year apart..
But keep wonderful memories of each one ..

Please let me know when you are going to continue your story

Gert

Hi, Rdfrdmom2, this is so sad, yet interesting. I can feel how you love and miss Mac, and willing to do what's best for him. Through this story I understand the great love that exist between a human being and a pet.

I need to become a fan. I know I read part 1 and this is a good addition to it. I need to read part 3 and find out what happens, so I better become a fan.

I have been in that place. You have written of it so well.I took my little 'angel' to a groomer the other day. First time in ten years. I have always kept him up,but with all else,it is getting to be a bit much. That 'groomer' needs to 'groom' his attitude,he insulted my dog,[who is touchy] and then me. Never again.I will make time. I loved the sensitive manner in which this story is unfolding.

Sometimes, it is hard to do what is in the pet's best interest. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for an easy read.

capturing my emotions are more important - is more
I have had to make this decision more than once, and more recently, my daughter had to make this decision after she had fought valiantly for six months of various operations and treatments for her cat. When she finally knew no options were left that might cure her beloved Pudge, she finally had to say her goodbyes. I am so very sorry you are going through this, Jan. I am sending much love. Brooke

I'm sorry, I too was hoping it was less serious. But you are doing what you have to do. I remember my husband signing a DNR for his Mom. It was tough. This is very well written with mataphors and all. You are amazing. My husband is allergic, but if I had a dog, it would have been a scottish terrior. Sooo sad.

I have a DNR which would have been instituted had I not revived when the chaplain kept calling my name when he came to visit me last summer when I was "checking out" with my acute pancreatitis -- my daughter was not happy about it but it's a decision I made long ago -- I need to get a pet for my remaining Scottie as she is still grieving mightily as am I -- love, jan

You have certainly been through a lot. I think experiences like this gives us special insight on feelings and circumstances. Did you you two female Scotties? My sister is running a pet newspaper and always looking for stories, pictures, etc. She is at petpostjuntion.yahoo.com

boy and girl -- thanks -- I will check out your sister's newspaper. I would be quite honored if she thought Mac's story was worth publishing. love, jan
