Heartrending--I scooted to your profile to read this first per your notes--part two had popped up--I'll be sure to go in order. Brilliant work--your agony is made manifest and your rendering of Mac is stupendous.

Thanks so much, Elizabeth. Mac was a very loyal and intuitive sidekick and I still miss him greatly. Jan

"Say What You Will: Day 1" is an illustration of feelings of wonderment so many have for dogs. You confront a difficult time the same as I had a day when my Binny could not be saved. Thanks for sharing.

Don't worry, you will never get a lecture from me, as to the wonder these beautiful people being into our lives, my mother in law didn't really love me much, but she adored her four legged companions. Elaine and I have said farewell to so many, everyone of them appreciated, everyone of them family members. So missed, they all have a place in our hearts. I've said a prayer for you and Mac. Beautifully written Jan, blessings Roy

Such a heart-wrenching story, Jan, and I feel your pain. When I lived on the farm I cried over the loss of a few dogs. But they were mostly outdoor dogs so the pain wasn't as great as you have when they are a constant companions. It was much harder when I lived alone with my two cats and lost them. Praying you can get through this one now. Hugs

So many of us have gone through the waiting times that you portray here, and then the drastic time that is put forth. In my case three times. With each dog, there was a telepathic aura. In one case, my father had just passed away and the dog we bought mirrored his eyes. Don't ask me what I was thinking. I wish I had six stars to give you.

I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved Mac. He was young when he left. Now you wait with Gwen for that inevitable day that she too must leave. Dogs hold a dear spot in our hearts forever. Each one leaving a lasting mark on our lives. More so than even cats. I love them both, but I've always missed my dogs more. I think it is because they will sit by you and let you use them for your comfort. They sense when you need for them to lay their head in your lap. They know when you're sick. They just give us tranquility. Hugs to you my friend, Sally

I have been down the same path - you have expressed it perfectly. There is no comfort when one loses a loved one who is closer than family often are, the heart breaks. The greater the love, the greater the pain. Praying for you in this next journey. Sending love.

that is sad, but beautifully written. My sister would know what you're going through. In the last few months she had to put down two horses and two dogs, all of whom she tried to save. She has two of each left and they miss their friends and are not eating much.
sorry to go on so about that.
I wish you strength and fond memories.
Katharine

WOW! I need to take a few minutes to recover before I write my review. I too have lost some four legged friends and realize that they were closer in many ways then some two legged friends. Be strong and remember, yes dwell, on the good times - Jerry

Wow, you suck, I'm crying and I'm not even into part 2. I can't imagine loosing my dog cuz she's been through everything with me. If you need to talk I'm just a call away.
