Yet another great poem, my friend and your approach towards life has changed a lot and definitely which is getting reflected with its shine throughout the poem. One really should know that what we see is not the all and should not judge till we can reach the core of anybody where the heart lies and it defines a personality. You're very correct in your approach. With one Sanskrit saying let me finish here : "Bishokumbham Payomukham" if means a vessel full of poison but just covered with sweet cream at the mouth. Hope your poem clarifies this very great saying once more.

Hello,
Another thought inspiring poem. One must always seek the beauty inside a person first. Yet it is the failing of the human being to judge on first appearance. In the Author notes you ask some very compelling questions and I would like to think that with honesty I can answer Yes to most! Thanks for sharing!

Great read Thru in answer to your questions

Have you ever invited the lonely and broken person over for dinner?
Yes a few times as our family owns a club in the not the greatest area and we have fed many a straggler

Have you ever complimented someone for their smile, when acne covered their face?
I have seen some pretty busted up people who have many other qualities to compliement instead of their looks

Have you ever given a hug to a stranger in a wheelchair, just because?
No they would most likely be scared if I approached them...
Do you take the time to think about the wounds on the inside
of a soul, before you judge the scowl on one's face?
Always My father always taught me to ask myself aqs to what would motivate a person to act that way.

Have you noticed the sparkle in the eyes of that obese person
and thought about who they are inside?
Thick or thin fat or skinny they are always people on the inside I never worry about their outter shell iunless I think they are under a health risk
Have you ever looked at the most beautiful woman you've ever seen, admiring her and lusting for her flesh until she opened
her mouth and the worst filth and contempt came pouring

Yep I even wrote a song about it called I'm done waiting for you.One of the lines is that your sweet and fine on the outside but on the inside you are course and drt..Skye

There's a lot to think about in this work that has such a strong voice regarding the true value of what is found inside of a person--as opposed to judgments based solely on what is seen. Thank you for sharing your thoughts so effectively.

What a beautiful piece. And how true, we look at something beautiful first. If there are two women and one is gorgeous and the other homely, our first impulse is to generate toward the gorgeous one.
However, over time beauty of the heart transforms the beholders eyes and the inner beauty comes through and makes the homely one the gorgeous one.
I think this is your message, and you have done a marvelous job with the use of your words and particularly as the story flows from one stanza to the other.
A true looking at the world around us and you have captured it amazingly well
Well done. Keep writing

This poem is very poignant and very well written. We live in a self-centered society striving for perfection of our bodies that is ingrained in us through the media, TV and magazines. They lure the most vulnurable, the young out of greed. Because of one's vanity, they only see what they want to see. Therefore, the imperfect is looked upon with disgust without searching for the beauty that lies within.

When I read a poem like this I read it first to see what it says. Then I read it again to see what's hidden inside. This one, whether it is about a poem speaking to a reader or a red -headed woman speaking to a man/men it still calls attention to things felt to be not visible on the surface. Intriguing.

Sincerely

Will

A very profound and thought provoking poetic masterpiece. Each stanza makes you dig a little deeper into your own beliefs and question your assumptions. Great job, please keep posting.
