This is a very good senryu and it is thought provoking.
The first two lines definitely tie together telling what Obama said. Then you have a comment on the statement made. Very profound and well done.

A good question: Guardian of the world?; chaperon for X; budging in for Y; foreign policy has a much higher priority than more important chores at home.

Help me understand where you are coming from with this senryu? I know of course Obama recently chastised the Israel government for the way they are handling negotiations with the Palestine - but is his mother Jewish? With family roots in Ireland I find that surprising. Cheers! Jerry

No, the stereotypical Jewish mother is controlling. Obama telling Israel to go back to indefensible borders (no country can defend itself if it is seventeen miles wide in the middle with the sea on one side and an enemy country on the other) and maintain them is controlling. Thanks you for the review.

I like your senryu. I've gotten really tired of people bashing Obama for everything he does, but the US must support Israel and I don't review for content.

Thanks for your reply. I don't think any country can cotinuously defend itself if it is only seventeen miles wide in the middle with the sea on one side and an enemy on the other; that, to me, is strategic suicide.
