Congratulations on your second place win, Shelley. What a wonderful play on words with "prints of our soles". And I see that you slipped in a mention of your beloved rainbows. I like the haunting, poignant quality of the write ... mortality vs immortality. On the other hand, your words bring to mind the lively upbeat tempo of Paul Simon's "Diamonds on the soles of her feet." Rich, textured writing - I enjoyed experiencing your haiku.

Very short but good meaning. It means to me that all of life makes an impression on us either good or bad. But in the long run we all have choices to make no matter what life has thrown at us.

I realized that the second line can have a double-meaning, if you change "sole" to "soul." I'm not sure how the latter would work, but it's something worth thought. Nice write.

A nice poem Haiku, through its beautiful images manufactures a beautiful and colorful autumn carpet. The artwork chosen is perfect!

Good stuff. The first line really kicks the whole thing off. The second line kind of fooled me, could have said footprints or souls.

An excellent poem. What a delightful way to view Autumn, as a tapestry ... and of course it is just that.
Rainbow colors, "bears the faint prints of our soles" - vivid and poignant imagery. I detect innuendo here and definite layers of meaning.
The final line is a significant statement as the simple falling of leaves and I presume referring to "fallen souls" and also aging into the 'winter' of our lives, leaving just "... the faint prints of our soles".
Vivid imagery and expression and many thoughts to ponder.
The presentation is splendid. The black back ground appears significant as part of, and reflective of, the 'under layers' of the poem, with the white font reflecting 'spirit'. I am not certain if I have perceived more than you have intended or misinterpreted anything. I just wish to express to you how your poem has made me feel and how emotive it is to me.
A wonderful entry for the contest. I wish I had a six. Good luck.
Warm regards - :) Lovinia xoxo

I think the leaves covered those prints up. This was a well written short poem. It was just a pleasure to have read and written this response for... John

This is a very lovely poem, Shelley, and I enjoyed reading it very much. I like the way you used similies and the colors in your words. Good luck with the contest.

Autumn Tapestry
Rainbow tapestry- like wooden ornaments
hanging on the wall
bears the faint prints of our soles-
bears the promising changes of the look.
autumn fallen leaves- nature change as you are to change.
