OHHHH spooky reading! Even though nothing happened I had this horrible feeling of dread right until your good dog popped up to welcome you home :)
Love the descriptions of the gully and the trees within - also loved the reference to the hills resembling dinosaurs. However my fav line has to be: Late at night, when the moon is on vacation. Love the 'the moon is on vacation' - awesome!
One little fix up:
"Surely that won't happen.", I say
-should be
"Surely that won't happen," I say
Not big enough to take away the piece though so still top marks from me. Fab read! :)

Hi Jess! Thank you, and I will correct the period too! I am wondering, do you see a purple chest or a gold one? I bought a purple for this? It pays more!! I have trouble each time. But, thank you again...I hope you and your friends and family are doing well. It's always so good to hear from you!! xoxo, susan

Excellent writing! You really know how to set a mood and scene. Wonder if your auto has 4 wheel drive, lol. Awesome alliteration in the line about dinosaurs skulking beneath the stormy sky. I'm so glad to have read this! Best always, and be safe (lol).

I think your descriptions are marvelous. I felt like I was in the car, seeing familiar places that seemed so unfamiliar in the darkness of night. I can feel the anxiety of the lone driver building - the imagination of the lone driver kicking into gear.
It was a fun write for you, and a fun read for me. This could have been, you know, a great beginning for a thriller.
