Great twist!

You did manage to add sensual delight to this entry, visually and enhanced it by asking the reader to breathe in the sweet arome.

Then you remind us of the danger in reaching for beauty.

very nicely written, the words say so much more than describing a flower. i just was reading another contest entry for writing about women and i thought of your last line.

I like the striking contrast in the thorns and the fragrance of the rose. The satori alludes to this well: "beauty is daring." Good luck to you in the contest, Jeanie Mercer

Fragrant! Without the thorns, roses are so intense. Women are like roses; you get on their bad side, you get pricked! Good job! Excellent work, and great picture, pugrpoems

I do really like this poem. It focused on the beauty of the rose, but of its strength too, while adding a hint of human personality in it.
