An interesting topic Bev, so many things have happened over the past few years with our Earth, who knows what the future holds.
You have put across a senyru with a thought on ' of the end' in dynamic fashion.
I enjoyed you use of words in this 5-7-5 offering, well done Bev.
Best wishes.

Your poem does a good job at illustrating what many beleive is going to happen. Personally, I do no buy into the story. If I want to see the future, I'll open my Bible.

Hi J.W. I think that many of the prophecies are taken from the ancient 'bibles' of the indigineous peoples. Whether they are any more accurate or real than the Judeo-Christian version remains to be seen. I really appreciate your honest comments and taking the time to respond to the poem. Best wishes...Bev

Wow, that artwork really enhances your presentation and you also picked the perfect background color for it. The senryu is potent and well portrayed with true to form style. Superb alliteration on C and D with a good echo in consonance on C in Decline in third line.
Well done~Impressive.

I too have noticed alot of writings about his all over and who ever started this grand prediction that the world ill end to me is plain hysteria. Remember in the year 1999 on New Years Eve everyone was waiting. Well ten years later the real catastrophe was 9.11.01. Whatever it is about 2012 I never read it in the Bible. Yikes now I know I will get a lot of flac for saying this. So be it:)
I like what you created and it was not of hysteria or fear, for what do we fear but fear itself.
Blessings my creative writing friend

Hi there Magics02. Your thoughtful review and encouraging words have me smiling ear to ear! The 2012 predictons seem to come out of the discovered writings of the indigenous peoples from what I understand. You are absolutely right in my opinion, I fear the ignorant and self-righteous mind more than anything else
something I find within myself all too often. Thanks so much for your support. Hugs, Bev

You are so welcome and I have to admit when folks talk of it I just got to say to them well wait and see if you so believe. No one knows how 2011 will be so how in the world can anyone predict 2012. Mystery to me. Great write friend xoxox

Hi sweet Bev
Great illustration and presentation, and spooky words.
I'm not too sure where this prediction that everything is going to end in 2012 comes from. I've heard that it's a Maya forecast, but as they vanished several centuries ago I can't take them too seriously.
Well, I live in the ancient Viking Kingdom of Mercia - so nice picture for me.

Hi buddy, hey thanks for taking a look at the poem and sending along your hilarious comments. Now you know I had to look up the Viking Kingdom of Mercea and find that, lo and behold, you live in Great Britain. Couldn't just say that could you. Your point about the Mayans is well made! You really, truly tickle my funnybone. I remember when in Ireland, they referred to the Black Spaniards and the Vikings in a little warmer terms than they used to refer to the British. Just saying...XXX Bev

Hi Bev. I though you knew I live in the English Midlands - Foxhunting contry. About 25 miles south of Nottingham (Robin Hood) and 25 miles north of Coventry (Lady Godiva) Guess the one I prefer! xoxox

Why Robin Hood of course. XXX Bev

To Writingfundimension,
A Senyru poem that strikes a core to us all as the end times are upon us.
These floods, alvalanches, hurricanes and devastating fires is just the beginnning(I believe) as to what will come.
Very complex topic to talk about.

Hi Charlene. I so appreciate your wonderful review. You are sweet to take time out to read my poem and send along your thoughtful review. I really worry about the state of our world. I, too, believe we have passed a tipping point. Blessings to you, Bev

Your senryu is very thought provoking and, as in all short poems, requires every word to be examined. For example, The word "Diablo" means devil, diabolical, and evil in general. Whether right or wrong, the sense I get from reading this is that evil bamboozles us with strange and fantastic end-time visions, when we are actually blind to our "contemporary" behaviors as a species: War, hate, prejudice, selfishness, jealousy, and godlessness will precipitate our demise. Blessings, Hector

Hello my friend. You have expressed beautifully what I am feeling about the state of our world and really got what I was feeling as I wrote it. Satan, whatever or whoever that may be, has the perfect ally in unbridled human ego. I so very much appreciate your excellent review Hector. Blessings to you as well, Bev

Great Senryu Bev. Your well chosen words depicting the effect of evil on our souls works well within your 17 syllable ration. Great job with it. Sean

I so appreciate your wonderful review Sean. It means a lot to me given your immense talent. I'm not sure what's going to come down after all but I do believe in a merciful and loving God. I hang on to that. You are a very dear man to show interest in my work and to support me most kindly. Blessings...Bev
