Nancy thank you so much for the six star rating. Actually I did need that one becuase just one more review gave it an all time best status which I didn't have on this one. I really appreciate those lovely comments. I'm just sorry you didn't get points or member dollars for your time.

Thank you so much for the review on one that didn't carry any points or dollars. I was pleasantly surprised to win. I enjoy doing the poems that you have to work certain words into. I may take another look at the line you mention.

Three things amazed me about this poem. First it didn't receive at least one six star rating, I've just rectified that. Second, someone gave it only four stars, obviously she doesn't understand balance and syllable count, And thirdly, it beat my entry. Just joking.

Thank you Bob, I really appreciate the six star rating. I think that tends to happen when you post late in the week after everyone runs out of six stars. Actually I had wondered if only entries with six stars and with all time best status were considered. It is nice to know that doesn't affect it. I was surprised to win.

I love a poem that tells a story, and this one does it well! Congratulations on your winning entry, poet. I was moved by the element of "deception of conception", and wondered what relief this unveiling provided the narrator. Emotional work balanced in meter and rhyme. Gifted...

Thank you Bob, It is one of the few things I've written that wasn't based on anything personal. I was shocked that I won because I've never managed to get better than a second on the FanStory based contest.

Thank you so much Susan, No it wasn't a blind contest. It is about the only thing I've written that is entirely fiction. I couldn't believe it won since I've never gotten a first place in those contests before. By the way, Thanks for the lovely Christmas card.

Thanks Lee, I appreciatete the review and comments. I've been trying to hear that fiddle. Actually these contests where you have to use certain words are fun. I think it's because I like word puzzles. They aren't that hard to do. You should try one.
