A story with a lot of emotion and done with so few words. I felt like I was there with them. Nicely done. Keep up the great work.

My sincere apologies for neglecting to thank you and for copying this message..a house fire on Christmas morning and four surgeries on my honey since November seems to have put the rest of my life on hold..I sincerely appreciate your time and comments...Hope to be back writing soon. Happy New Year and wishing you the best in 2011...Smiles, Carol

Very nicely done.
Had me guessing until the end - now I get the photo you paired with it, love and possibly a heart transplant..or something along those sorts.
Enjoyed.

A very sad story with a happy ending.....I'm sure people have helped their loved ones die, I for one could understand why though hope never to be put into the position to even consider it.
Good luck in the contest.

Excellent contest entry! You have told such a lot in just 100 words. The despair of both the man and the woman fighting different demons can really be felt and the ending really made me smile. Also made me frown thinking, "That was close!" though haha :)

Hi author. A happy ending! How lovely. I was all set for a sad ending then all of a sudden, "We have a donor." Well done and good luck

I see why this was recognized. Though I am new to the flash fiction genre, having only read maybe a dozen of them, I was impressed with the writer's ability to evoke a tear in the eye of the reader in 100 words. Good luck in the contest! I'm sure this will be a strong contender!

Mystery Writer,
your story titled A Thread of Hope is very well written and emotional. Jake was ready to give up he was in so much pain and his woman asked him to not give up. I loved the ending the doctor rushed in with the good news an organ donor was found. In 100 words you managed to established a setting, conflict, and a resolution to your flash fiction. Your dialogue was natural and the narrative was good. Lovely art work you used. Your flash fiction is an excellent entry in the 100 Word Dash writing prompt. I wish you good luck in the contest and voting both. You will be getting my vote because you did an impressive job writing a cohesive story in under 100 words.

Your story is filled with intense emotion and tension - the dialogue develops the characters, shows the closeness of their relationship, reveals the tragic problem, and then the dramatic last second change of events - how moving. And all in 100 words - good luck in the contest :-) Brooke
