dejohnsrld,

This is a very nice rhyming poem about how
our children bring us joy, hope and newness of life.

I think it is good for the separated, but
I also think it is good for those who enjoy
those pleasures and benefits everyday.

Great job!
Linda

This is a sweet piece of writing. As a mother, I completely relate to it. But I would love to see some of the poignancy of the separation intertwined into the love and joy. I think it would give it greater depth and heart.

Full of raw emotions and love this sad but honest write you have here. The picture depicts the child and the joy you have with time spent with him or her is indeed a treasured one. Good writing here

Yes, children do enrich our lives. Well written and to the point, this is a lovely piece of poetry. They are a gift from God.

This is very easy to read and yes I could see a mom or dad saying these very things even if they are together as a child comes home, from school or camp etc. Sweet rhyming and meter!

You certainly show the feeling within this lovely poem.
As parents we don't always realise what we have until they go away. Where ever they go our children know we will always be there for them. As much as we feel the adult sadness at separation with the other parent, this children feel it more and sometimes feel it's there fault.

Your poem shows acute sensitivity in the pleasure of the happy return.
Lovely sentiment.

It is a nice rhyme over a child missed, i'm sure a lot of readers can associate with it, divorced or not!
You wrote it straight forward and clear, for the child too maybe?

Yes, it could be for a child too. They are the ones that truly suffer from a broken home. Thanks for the review. Have a great day. Debbie

I'm a parent. And my son lives with us. I couldn't imagine not seeing him every day. Your work has a tender sorrow that just comes through from the longing heart of a parent separated from a child. Full of feeling!

A beautiful poem with the artwork. The author expresses her love for her own child, she says," Child of Mine a warm embrace The feel of your lips on my face...The joy of seeing you Brings in the day anew...I want to see you play In that carefree, happy way...Oh, beautiful child of mine, You make my life divine."

I chose to review this because I have a daughter, now twenty years of age, who has brought more joy to my life than I have ever known. Your rhymes, your meter, remind me of her, even though she is growing into a young lady, and is leaving me, as the young always have, and always will. It is the way of things.

Thanks for sharing!
