You produced a little bit of everything in this imaginative haiku; visual imagery, alliteration, and even some rhyme. Nice choice of art work also.

This haiku really creates and image that the art adds too nicely. I love your last line: brushstrokes of summer. Pastel, turquoise and golden makes a very colorful poem.

I actually had a dizzying view such as the one in the graphic. I was in Hawaii and thought I had heat stroke. Great short work in the Haiku format. Excellent movement in the words, instruction, and a very fine surprise ending. Thanks. Ray.

dear Ray, I can only imagine the beauty of Hawaii - one place I have yet to see. I am in Virginia Beach, Va, so the summers are lovely here - although this one, as many other areas of the country, was extremely humid and hot and longer than usual this year. I'm actually looking forward to Fall. Thank you so much once again - much appreciated. Sandy

This poem paints a beautiful picture of summer. I not only see but feel summer. I especially like the alliteration of 'perfect pastel,' and I also like the internal rhyme of 'blues and hues.' The last line finished the picture with brushstrokes of summer. Very nice. Good luck with the contest. ann

oh Betty, thank you so very much. I've never been to Hawaii, am more familiar with beaches of the East Coast as I live in Virginia. So glad you enjoyed this one and I appreciate your kind words and good wishes. Sandy

Your poem paints a beautiful picture of summer. The beautiful illustration you've used lends well to the poem. This correct syllables have been used for the Haiku and this is a great entry. Good luck in the Haiku contest.
