Wow! Plenty may be too understated a word.
Carol, you are a multi-talented woman, and it's not surprising at all to see why you are the essence of success. Your positive attitude is one I admire, as well as your tenacity not to stop, but to forge ahead.

Eliz,
I missed writing..Probably won't be able to get back into full swing until sometime in the fall. It's hard to give up a passion, but life has other plans at the moment. Thanks...Carol

Wow. My thoughts go out to you. Unspeakably crappy circumstances that make for great writing. Not really any comfort, I am sure, but I really enjoyed reading this! Now on to Part II.

jashleigh,
Thanks for reading and for the kind comments. You are right...sometimes the strangest things in life make for the best stories...for others anyhow. Thanks so much...Carol

Bless your heart, this is awful. I would die. And am, slowly from my own woes. But your house truly sounds as if it is WORTH trying to fix again Carol. BEGIN AGAIN! You must, and is there ANY way of making your daughter and son in law help PAY for THEIR damage THEY did to YOUR house?? I would make them WORK like dogs. But then, I imagine they are long gone too. Sure wish I could go there and help you. I know how it is to age just when you need your strength the most. Life really does suck at times. Please let me know if I can do anything Carol. Boy. I will PM you with my dilimma if you want, it may help you??? I don't know. Love, Susan

Susan,I couldn't even make them clean out all their own junk. My garage is packed to the ceiling after throwing away a dumpster full of garbage. My son-in-law doesn't even come around me now ...tells my grandchildren I threw them out on the street. The lazy bum hasn't supported his family ever...leaves it on my daughter's shoulders. LIfe really does suck sometimes....TAke care, my friend. Smiles, CArol

I hope and pray my son does not marry some bimbo that will drag him down, maybe someday your daughter will leave him??? I would want her too. God. I know, in Sept. Sam will be in court facing "ciminal mischief, pointing a firearm" and one other charge, because a neighbor just didn't want to hear our gun, even tho he himself had just shot a gun or something,(fireworks??) off to run our horses. It cleaned out our savings, and two paychecks to get him out on bond. This is Indiana, no protection against lying vendettas, no protection against harassment, we have been run from 4 homes now, because I complained(and rightfully so) against certain officials. This is nothing more than their revenge against us. I am livid, and have lost 30 pounds from sheer stress. I sure wish you all the best Carol, I really would come and help you if I could. I worked 18 hours solid, cleaning this place and getting it painted and ready to sell. Here we go again, and this place is paid for, we intended to retire and stay here. I can't even ride my horse without pipebombs, or fireworks, or their other forms of harassment, it just isn't safe to even try. I used to ride each evening. Now I am afraid. So, you are not alone in stress and just sheer fatigue. Please take care, I think of you with love and respect my friend. Susan

Carol, another exhilirating read, that kept me glued from its opening to end. Instead of cashier register, cash register sounds better.
The distinction I make, and maybe its just my nature within the scope of things, is that of the trials of Job in the bible.
He had a pretty good life, you could even say he was blessed with a golden spoon in his mouth. Finally God allowed Satan to afflict him, to prove a point.
Suddenly like falling dominoes, disasters one after another, but he refused to blame God. He somehow knew there was a reason to the madness.
Me, all my life I've had those disasters, horrifying disasters, however once God stepped in, even though I never till recently saw it, blessing after blessing.
The bottom line in both situation here's what God told Satan." Do what you will, but just remember one thing...When the dust settles my beloved will still be standing." Amen

Mino,
without God and my darling angel in my heart and mind, I know without a shadow of a doubt I never would have made it down this troubling road. Smiles, CArol

You sound like me. It's hard to wrap my head around the fact that my body doesn't do what it used to, and I can't make things happen like that. I can see this is one of those times for you too. Great job.

Oh, I'm almost afraid to go to part two!! I think most people have been in your shoes to some degree at sometime in their life. I know I have and may some day be there again, but I know your good spirit will see you through.
Now, with my heart in my throat, on to part two (so sorry about your husband's health issues ...) excellent piece of writing, as always

Jude,
And this was just skimming the surface. In one day, both my cars broke down, and the calamities of trying to be a carpenter, painter, etc. would be too much for others to find believable...even though they are true. Thank you for caring...Carol

Oh, boy. This doesn't sound good for you at all. One of my favorite song lerics is, "LIfe is what happens to you while your busy making other plans." John Lennon.
When I started reading this, I thought you rented to strangers, because of the condition of the house. I've seen that happen too many times. But your own family. Now, that is bad.
I wasn't happening!
It wasn't happening!
Convincing myself it was only outdoor cosmetics, I climbed the sagging steps and unlocked the front door.
As the door swung openEditor- skip a line)
hugs book

Book,
I too found it almost impossible to believe that so much damage would be done to a family home...guess life is always waiting to prove us wrong. Smiles, CArol

Hi Carol,
Your story held me captivated from start to finish. I can totally relate to your thoughts about recreating your home. Of late I have many of the same feelings. When I first bought my home, I made numerous changes with no problem, but now the task seems overwhelming.
Your story has a smooth flow and the ending leaves me wanting to read more. Thank you for sharing.

be damned i havent a six sis. where have they gone to.. This story, the true, real nitty gritty, honest and raw version of my big or should I say now, little sis's life of late, in a nutshell. I am so glad you have chosen to relate this tale, as once you finally get into Hutch.... you will sit back one day and re read this story and shake your head... you will realise the immensity of your project and just what a legend you truly are. My sis. The girl, like a pearl, that changed her world from an unpside down topsy turvy friggin' mess, to a family home, now pleasing to the eye and hopefully where life will start to take a turn for the better. the story is fabulous and written with the brilliance of a skilled and famous writer... now I believe having a story released, by the good work of her son, onto the big screen. May it be the start of something wonderful to come.
luv the story sis, its an awesome comeback... big hugs and much luv, from your littler sis. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and damn sorry i aint got a 6 .. give it a 106 instead.

Sis,
No six needed...your encouragement and understanding ear have been more than enough lately. I couldn't have made it through without you...Love, Sis
